Anyone who talks shite to people for using game features to beat bosses need to get a life. Never feel bad for using actual game mechanics in your olaythrough

My personal opinion on a game that markets itself as a souls like and provides difficulty option is the intended experience is probably the highest ot second highest level of difficulty, but who the frick cares? It is a single player video game no one is going to show up to your house with a trophy and a hot coed from the quad for a suck. If games like fromsoft without difficulty selections put something in the game and 2 fricking years later havent removed it go hog wild as far as I care.

Completely agree. With that said, I would encourage people to only use summons if they really, really need. Completely changes the dynamic on some fights. Hell, I can’t speak to ER, but there are a few fights in the Dark Souls series that can be won by the summons without the player doing anything at all

8 new weapon types
100+ new weapons
previews were able to play 2 legacy dungeons, but they said there's more and a lot of hidden areas
at least 10 new major big bosses, but there's plenty of side minor bosses too in side dungeons and roaming the overworld
dlc shadow of the erdtree first area is close in size to limgrave+wheeping peninsula+a little bit of caelid, it's big, it's dense
30~50h playtime for this expansion depending if you rush
there's no recommended level, but it seems that between 120~150 is a safe bet, considering that people normally beat mohg and malenia at 120~130.
they did it again, more elden ring means more greatness.

Holy shite I didnt check out any of the people like Vadvidya who got early hands on but if all thast is true we are all about to eat like kings who just conquered a people are paraded their women before us to hear them wale. Cant fricking wait. I expected 20 hours if you dont care too much to find stuff and 30-35 hours max. If they say 30-50 im rock hard.
I dont have a level 120 character in the proper spot to jump right into this. Probably gonna have to put in work with a level 70 or so to get there before it drops.

I watched the VaatiVidya video because these are great background/nap videos. Here is that video. The guy recommends for most to stop watching after the 11 minute mark.
I did not sleep during this one! I am just a boring sword and shield guy but the new techniques look pretty awesome. I am looking forward to knocking some rust off my ELDEN LORD character (level 132...I think?).
I think that's what it will be.

I’ve stuck with the same character and have done multiple builds on different playthroughs. I’m rolling in the DLC at 350. I hope it’s difficult and they give me 50 hours. I’d be elated.

Please tell me this is the tigerdroppings joke of saying "tree fiddy" or do you have a character really at level 350? Either way that's awesome.

No, I stuck with one character to level
I didn’t want to create multiple characters.
One week out. Unfortunately, I won’t be able to jump on this until Sunday.

Playing some Lords of Fallen to pass the time. Really fun Souls type game for anyone enjoying hasn’t played

I actually understand that. Just realized that I started new game plus when I beat the game last time. I 100% did not want to replay the game over but I found a guide online that tells you the exact steps to unlock the DLC.
I can post those directions on here if anyone needs them. It took about 2-3 hours from the start of the game.

FightinCowboy on YouTube is doing his first playthrough with a high level character so he can have the flexibility to use anything and everything he finds in the DLC. Probably not a bad way to approach it

I’m hoping my guy being frenzied flame doesn’t screw me with Melina, but I guess we will see

I'm betting she'll be a boss you can face because you went frenzied flame, but that no one who chose the other endings can.

Yeah, on that last playthrough, somehow I fricked up the Goldmask quest at the very end. I was trying to get the mask and the ending. After I realized I made a mistake, I went back down for another shield and did the frenzied flame ending again.

Finally fired it back up. I wish I had more somber ancient dragon smithing stones. Only rolling in with 2. I wish we could get a count of how many Albinaurics die this week

I don’t think burning the erdtree is a requirement for entering the dlc. It’s also never been the case before in a dlc that you get locked out of dlc stuff from choices made in the main game.
Storywise, it makes the most sense since you’re following Miquella that you do malenia>mohg> enter the dlc> then light the erdtree.

Exactly. FromSoft has never released DLC that's possible to lock out. You can obviously "miss" it if you don't know how to access it, but you can't be locked out of it, no matter what you do. I would be blown away if that changed with ER.

I don't think you'll get locked out from the dlc. There's just no reason for her to want to fight you until you've become the frenzied flame. I guess they could add a new reason though.

You only have to kill Radahn and Mohg to enter the DLC area. Then you'll touch the arm in that egg thing behind Mohg to enter.
