I saw something earlier on elevation changes, it looks like the calculation is the same as 2k. every 3 feet of elevation change in either direction equates to 1 yard of impact.
For wind, anything under 10mph equates to 1 yard per 1 mph of wind. For 10-20mph of wind, the multiplier goes to 1.5 yards per 1mph of wind.

I am fricking arse when it comes to any putt that isn’t straight on

I’m arse at all of it. I can’t seem to get my downswing to even come close to the right speed. No matter how fast I think I’m and slinging the stick forward, it is always like a 2% slow swing. I don’t know what the damn deal is.

I love 2k so far though I either am shooting way over par on one setting the next lower I’m stomping the field. I’ve started to limit previews and such.
I do love the courses EA has, they only have 30 but it’s the top ones and the majors. 2k missing the majors makes me want to get EA.
Is there any discussion on how many courses they might add? I see at least 5 from their site

I've not seen anything on future courses, so no idea. If i'm being fully honest, while having all those courses for 2k is cool, 30 known courses is more than enough for me. I don't feel like that is a factor that makes much of a difference to me, I much more value playing courses I really know well and love watching vs random unheard of places or fake courses.
As far as the games go, there really isn't a huge difference. Yes each has some different mechanic emphasis on what impacts stuff, but they still feel very similar and realistic. I only played 2k21, so i'm speaking to that one. I have enjoyed both games and they both bring some different stuff and both have some strengths and weaknesses when it comes to the actual golf.

I’m with you on I would rather the 30 known especially the masters and all the major titles. I’m probably going to end up getting EA to go along with 2k

I doubt I switch to EA but I’m intrigued. Do we have a TD Country Club on 2k23? Assuming they have that feature, I usually play online with my brother and that’s about it

Same for me. With golf games, it’s about the real branding, course names, tournament names, etc that are important to me. I have no desire to play something called Azalea National Golf Club or a tournament called the UK Open

If we have one on either I’d join

I'm getting a little better at the putting. I'm just trying to focus on the power meter getting lined up with the preview line. Trying to aim my player to it just isn't working. The really big breaking ones, i've found the line seems to be inconsistent. I've had more luck with going a little shallower on them with a little more speed.
I'm just playing on Pro difficulty right now until I get the hang of things fully, but have most everything off except the putt preview for now. Starting to get a feel for all the shots and stuff and the distance calculations.

Have you played Wolf Creek in Nevada yet? If not, that one will make you completely disregard anything you thought you were figuring out in regards to distance and club selection.

Went ahead and got EA the majors being on it and some of the reading about how the courses play pushed me over.

I've enjoyed it so far. If you like 2k, you'll like this. Neither game is perfect, but if you like golf games, you'll like it.
I just wont the US Open as an amateur. That was definitely a fun play. Augusta as an amateur was a lot of fun. First round ate my lunch but I made a nice run through the weekend.

I am getting used to it. Some of the chipping physics are still funky to me but the courses look and play great. It’s definitely fun

Agreed. Chipping has been a challenge.

Chipping is a challenge in 2k as well.
The EA putting does look more challenging than 2k.
I have a feeling I’m going to end up playing EA way more because it has the best 30 courses. I wish they had more but if they had like 15 you would have a full schedule to play.

I haven't played 2k3, but for 2k1 I think I figured it out. Wherever the target starts out, you can basically club up then bring your target back to that original spot. You may need to adjust a bit based on slope, but works for me almost every time.

The putting in ea feels like there is much less margin for error on your aiming. 2K I thought the putting was pretty easy, especially being able to use the shot preview to see where you are aiming. The EA version is a little harder to aim initially. I think both are similar in difficulty once you take off all the aim assists for putting, but EA seems to be a smaller margin for your aiming.

I’m half way through first round at Augusta and putting I agree the initial aim is hard but I’m liking it. Driving is probably about the same though I’m almost always over swing and slow by like 2 percent. It doesn’t seem to be a big deal.
Chipping so far I’m pretty bad at through 9.
I actually like the EAanimation better for swings I feel like I once I have it the track will be pretty cool.
Also EA kills 2k as far as graphics and the pieces that go around it.
So 2k is easier overall imo, has more course options but they aren’t the most historic ones.
EA will probably take a bit more to get, has less courses but has the cream of the crop and has done a great job on the visuals.
I’m feeling like EA is going to get more play. It’s just hard to beat having Augusta and all the majors
