After the Rory McIlroy PGA Tour steaming pile of shite, hard pass.

So 2K comes our with an actual good golf game with thousands of great user designed courses and now EA wants to get back in the game? No thank you.

The gameplay on 2k is not great. The swings are choppy and far from smooth. If EA can return to form it would crush 2k.

Yeah the tiger woods games on the PS3/360 were some of the best playing golf games.

Depends what you're looking for. If you want an arcade style game where you can spin the ball an insane distance or draw/cut the ball like it's a video game, then the Tiger Woods games are what you want. If you want a more realistic style of play, then 2K is where you should go. These are 2 totally different games.

Yeah. Tiger woods was easy mode. Press X to start swing, X at the top, then X at the bottom. Shoot 23 under every round and never accidently shank it into the rough. Its more of an arcade game than a golf game. Meanwhile on the golf club you actually have to have good swing timing and keep the stick straight

2k's game mechanic is great. Especially if you play on master difficulty. It actually takes a lot of practice with timing and good touch to have a good swing. Its more accurate representation of real golf.

EA's game were all about spin/power boost and shooting 59's every round.

i’m glad that there’s competition in the space. willing to give the EA game a try. especially with game pass. I like 2K. hope it keeps getting better. I wish there were different swing types among other things.

It'll be interesting to see how 2k does once EA is released. Some people want golf simulations and some want golf arcade style games. I think it will come down to which version has the most playable pros and courses.

2k right now is fine, but the lack of courses and pros is really a turn off for a lot of casual players.

I found 2k boring as dog shite and could have passed out playing the game

2K has a great fundamental golf game but the career mode is terrible, they need to allow you to progress your players attributes and allow you to earn better gear and upgrade your guy over the course of the game. I enjoyed making my player a badass in the old tiger woods games but it got old when combined with the ease of the game. If they combine the player development/customization of the old EA games with the difficulty level of 2K they’d have an awesome game.

Yeah, it did get boring pretty quickly. Basically, I just play it now when a tournament is going on in real life and I want to play that course. I feel like the user interface for changing your players gear up is pretty terrible. Maybe I was just looking at it incorrectly, but it seemed that I already was maxing out club length very early in the game.

Also, in regards to arcade style, I am looking forward to Mario Golf in June.

Technically no. Technically yes

Due to licensing you can’t make a course called Augusta. I can’t remember off the top of my head what it’s called but when you’re choosing a course it’s on the 3/4th page under trending. You’ll know it when you see it because it looks (and feels) exactly like Augusta.

That was very true on the xbox/ps versions. The Wii version where you had to actually swing was totally different animal. I had both the xbox and wii versions. The xbox version was a turn-off-your brain kind of fun. The Wii version took a lit more practice to get right, and I' pretty sure it fricked up my IRL swing.
