Tulane, Notre Dame, and Northwestern have all pulled their names from being allowed on this game. I’d imagine more are going to follow suit.
I’m becoming less optimistic that this game becomes a reality.

I would imagine all the SEC, Big 12, and ACC schools are in. Let’s see how the Big 10 and PAC 12 unravel.

If nobody else backs out, I guarantee those schools opt back in.

Didn't Notre Dame have their own licensing agreement on the original series? I recall always seeing just theirs as the game started up.
You'd think theirs would be the easiest one to wrap up, but I guess they wanted more money or didn't want to trip into a potential lawsuit down the road.

Do you not play as the smaller schools?

Pretty sure everyone here plays first as their own school, gets 3-4 years in and after winning 2-4 natties and building a dynasty goes on to pick a small dookie school to build a dynasty with.
For me, I’d generally get 5-6 years in with South Carolina, win some natties, get 2-3 Heismans, win every individual player award at least once, have the number one scoring offense, get the number one scoring defense, and have the number one recruiting class. Once I hit all of those achievements, I’d move on to a new dynasty. Generally I’d run a rather balanced attack in terms of passing/running.
I’d then pick a dookie school in either Florida or Texas and do either a heavy run or heavy pass style offense. Accomplish much of what I said above, move up to a P6 (at the time) conference, win their CC and a natty and then move on.
Then I’d pick whichever state I didn’t pick above, go with whichever play style I didn’t do above and rinse and repeat.
Then I’d play as a QB in individual mode. Once I got to my junior year, I’d do two saves. One where I declared and moved on. The other I stayed to set all the records.

Over on the NCAA sub Reddit, most people seem to play as the smaller schools
I usually play as Alabama but I also play the games of plenty of other teams. Like if the no.10 team is facing off against an UR team, I’ll play as the UR team to see if I can win it with a higher difficulty. This is one of the things I loved about NCAA compared to Madden. In Madden you can only play as the team(s) in your dynasty. So you couldn’t play the SB if your team didn’t make it. But here I can play every team even though my dynasty was with Alabama.

That's pretty much exactly what I did. Once all the real players were gone, and it became too easy to win, I would switch to building up a smaller school. That school was never Tulane though. Screw them dudes.

USC is already stating they're out. Which is weird bc they are in the game (Madden) already right now in the story mode.

NCAA has to be threatening schools with something.

The schools are sitting out until there is a pay structure set up to pay the student athletes so I think this is all posturing. I'm guessing something will be worked out by the time this thing drops in 2 or 3 years.

you'll have the ability one way or another. and i assume there will be a way to add teams even if you swap the teams that are there with the ones that are missing. that's what they did for coastal carolina and a few others.
the college football revamped team has already committed to this.
