I thought the same thing. I was not impressed with the demo but I decided to give it a shot. The single player is pretty fun. Not what I expected at all since you can pretty much play as a stealth game. Even if you go guns blazing its not the whack-a-mole shooter like the other battlefields. There are two modes in multiplayer , rescue and crosshair, that I like a lot. It wont be replacing BF 4 for me but like Evolve it a nice change of pace.

the flaws he does point out though. good grief. it should have been an add on like Vietnam to bf2 like he says. I'll just wait for GTA V on pc and play payday 2

I'm not saying he's wrong. But I'm not going to expect an objective review from someone who's whole shtick is to be pissed off all the time.

The most important thing for me in the review was what you just said. It's just not worth the money, IMO. Especially when a more complete and better version just came out. I agree with that and many other things in his review. The Hotwire rewards system is just AWFUL. People literally wait to spawn inside a hotwired car to collect massive rewards. TRIPLE all other modes in the game. It's like people are hacking without hacking. It's just what I've seen.

FTR, that was a commentary on the reviewer. I have no opinion of the game yet.
