I used to but it’s hard getting friends on it because you need to level and grind for guns.

it is cross platform now. I didnt start playing again until this happened because im on playstation and my two friends that still play are on xbox.

D2 is very difficult to start as a new player right now. The grind and overall mod/armor upgrade situation is straight up stupid for people trying to have the powerful builds

Witch Queen is coming out in February so the grind starts all over again, I think my son is at 1330.

I play it a good amount right now. I like so many others was burned by the release and the stupid Mercury expansion, there were a lot of issues with how the game was designed and the weapons were slotted. I played a little bit of the forsaken and warmind campaigns but never reached max light level on my titan. Back in May of this year I got laid off and downloaded the beyond light expansion and played with a buddy. Since I had a plethora of free time I grinded my titan to max light and have a warlock and hunter max light as well now. Beyond Light is a great expansion and the stasis builds are really cool and unique, I like the Hunters stasis tornado best. But what I really like is that Bungie is mixing up the metas and has completely overhauled the mod system and how they are applied. Right now fusion rifles are the meta damage weapon which I like since I have always liked fusions, last season it was grenade launchers. They also have an artifact that grants you additional light and mod unlocks that are relevant to that seasons meta.
If you are interested in witch queen I think it would be for the best to play some again and familiarize yourself with it. You have enough time to grind your main to a good level for witch queen should you want to do so. Cross play has also helped breath new life into it, happy to answer any other questions since I have a pretty good knowledge about the game at the moment.

I got my characters up to 1330 a few months ago and quit. I currently have no desire to play again. Maybe I’ll get Witch Queen but I’m not sure yet.

Grinding out cookies for a sweet glacio
Running DoE for space shite ship
Working on +21 for Master VoG
Running Lost Sectors for exotic rolls
GM NFs for shards and prisms

You should be able to get to around 1270 rather easily, 1320 is where you're weekly challenges come into playing to get to 1330 you need both luck and pinnacle rewards to get any farther.
