This would distract me from my studies. So I am ok with this.

At this rate Cyberpunk 2077 will release in 2078.

I just refunded my purchase. Bought it October 3rd on Steam... I'll still buy it when it comes out, but I spent $60 thinking I was getting something on November 19, which I even took off work along with Nov. 20th.

As excited as I am for it, I’m not that mad at this because it gives me a whole month to focus on AC: Valhalla which I’m also pretty stoked about

I'm barely into my full Witcher series play through so a delay doesn't bother me in the least. About to start Witcher 2 so I have a long long long long way to go.

I was thinking of jumping into the 3rd one. Do I need to play 1 and 2 first?

No, starting with Witcher 3 is fine. Witcher 2 is interesting But I didn’t love the gameplay

I got my hours back. No biggie.

I started 3 a few months back to play a CDPR title before Cyberpunk having never played a Witcher game. No regrets. Story is easy to pick up and the game is amazing. Top 5 all time for me

Nope. I played all the way through 2 times when it came out with zero knowledge of the first 2.
The combat in the first is wonky as hell. I remember trying the second game when it came out and didn't make it through the tutorial. Combat is improved in the second game but still not nearly as good as the 3rd game.
After watching the Witcher tv series I decided I wanted some more of the backstory so I fired up this play through.

So I’ve seen the tv show and enjoyed so it that’s what got me looking into playing the game. Am I still good to go?

Yup. As I said. I didn't play 1 or 2 before 3.
I can't remember if when you start the game you can choose to pick the option to make choices from past games or if it automatically happens after the tutorial area.
I think after the tutorial area you can choose to answer some questions while you are getting a shave. If you haven't played the first 2, you can skip answering and the game will essentially pick the Human Side option. In the second game you pick whether to help the humans or help the non humans. Both sides are pricks and kill innocent folks.
So I would suggest giving no answers because the questions will make no sense. I think on my first 2 plays, I answered the questions having no clue what my responses meant. You can do that too. Essentially if you sided with Roche on anything then you were with the humans and if you sided with Iorweth you sided with nonhumans.

“As a rule, we don’t comment on rumors or speculation,” a CDPR representative told IGN in response to a request for a comment on the latest delay rumors. “But I will confirm we were just taking time to update all of our assets to reflect the new launch date of December 10th.”
