Well, Iberia and France were kind of easy mode by the 1300's if you don't have Aztec Invasion. The East is dealing with the Turks, Timurs, and Mongols and all you have to worry about are the HRE and North Africa.
Plus, it can be interesting to bring superpowered Aztecs and Incans into EU4.
But yeah, Sunset Invasion is by far the worst expansion...or maybe least useful expansion.
I'd rank them (in terms of new interesting content):
The Old Gods-new start date in 867 allows you to play as pagans. Can do Viking raids
Legacy of Rome - allows you to build a standing army and adds a ton of new events
Charlemagne-769 start date, new events, custom kingdoms and empires.
The Republic - let's you play as republics and adds mercenaries for hire.
Horse Lords - Allows you to play as nomadic hordes. Pretty fun actually. I just like playing republics more.
Sword of Islam - lets you play as muslim rulers
Sons of Abraham - adds Judaism to the game, adds more Holy Orders. Makes heresies more powerful.
Way of Life - seemed interesting at first, but doesn't really add too too much. Lets you set a focus and gain new events and stats...but meh
Rajas of India - lets you play as Indian rulers
Sunset Invasion - makes superpowered Aztecs attack Iberia, France, or Ireland.

Can you provide a screenshot?
Not this minute from my actual game, but here:
I click the ambitions tab thinking I should see something like this pop up:

but instead, my main character screen pops up.

Edit: I think I just figured it out. Figured there had to be something on my character screen to click that I was just overlooking if it kept sending me there. I just went around clicking everything until the 'set a goal' pop up appeared after clicking something. noob problems, ha

Lets you seduce other rulers' wives. I have enjoyed doing that

I think one of my Hungarian dynasties has 3 or 4 people with the name "unchaste"

well that sounds cool. I looked at EU4 and that looks awesome. between that and ck2 which is "better"?
I know the buldestars deal for 10 bucks is hard to pass up. I am just not sure if I will be able to invest the time to really play it.

They are different. CK2 is very much a game of relationships. Your building or destroying relationships allowing you to act. In CK2, you are a ruler.
In EU4, you play as an entire government and its global and it deals with changing trends.
I switch between them all the time. It depends on which historic era is tickling my fancy and how complicated I want things. I'd say eu4 is probably a bit more intuitive

I'm oddly having a very good game right now after declaring independence and winning the war. Everyone around me seems to love my country and dynasty. I've never had that happen. There's almost always several people who hate me.

Did they like the guy you broke away from. Religious differences?

Well I bought the bundle for ck2 and it's installed. I will be playing it later tonight

Is there any action or is it all simulation with clicking actions

No and he had been excommunicated from the Catholic Church

The most amount of action is watching two stacks of numbers fight each other.

This is why I backed out of it. Was far difficult to just jump in and play. Will try again with an easier start, but it was indeed brutal.

Don't play ironman at first, and use console commands to make the game easier. Big-dick your away around until you get a feel for the mechanics.

I am of the opinion that good game design means anyone can pick up and get a good grasp of how to play the game.
Life would be a lot more boring if artists only created things that would reach the widest audience possible. Where's the fun and creativity? Some people want something more than a frozen TV dinner every night.

I initially got interested in this game, as it was described (with the mod, of course) as the best Game of Thrones game out there. I've never played a Paradox title, except Diplomacy (I was a fan of the board game), although I was tempted with EU and Hearts of Iron - at times.
I guess I was always turned off by the "real time" aspect of it - but I think it is more "simultaneous execution" than true RTS, unless I'm mistaken.
May have to give it a second look.

And the bundle stars offer makes it attractive at $10 - I can tell you that.

wow...thanks for that. I forgot about the deal.
SOLD. 10 bucks for the game and all DLC? Yes.
Steam still has it for 40 bucks just for the game itself.
