Only complaint I’ve seen so far is they don’t hold your hand on exploration. There is no mini map and it can be overwhelming. But I’ve read it’s pretty linear so it can’t be that bad. Definitely not a deal breaker

Man I sucked at the button timing in Legend of Dragoon for the turn based combat, this is probably going to be even harder

The music is so good. The first 10 minutes are absolutely incredible.

Creators from the FF community specifically, the biggest names, are drawing big comps to FF10 in story and world and calling the combat potentially the best turn based combat system ever made.

The parry system drawing comps to Sekiro. Damn

Lots of extra costumes and no micro transactions in a 50$ game. We are so back boys

The lowest rating I've seen so far is 80% and that is because of "awful platforming" and some cringy dialogue. I am beyond pumped to start playing tomorrow morning before work.

Performance is very top notch. The writing is being praised highly as well. My favorite quote I have seen. "This game was made by a team of 30 people, it makes it look like no other AAA team is even trying."

There is such a glaring…money making hole…in the gaming market right now.

So glaring and so profitable in fact that if done right…such as not appeasing the weirdos that are such a small percentage of the market, quality writing and voice acting, no micro transactions, etc. Essentially creating a game with passion….you can sell it for $50, make a killing, and be considered a potential game of the year before actual release.

Rocket science.

I have to give some credit to microsoft and xbox here. I have been very critical of them but they backed this game heavily. It is likely thanks to them such a small studio could pay for such talent at voice acting and how well it was marketed, which was also a masterclass. Thanks xbox

I think this is why we get the FFX comparisons. Smaller team can just focus on creating a more detailed and streamlined map. Take that big open world budget and place it into Voice Acting.

If I were the head of a 30 man team and trying to build a successful RPG I’d take inspiration from X and the newer God of Wars(world design is what I consider perfect).

If we know we are sitting on a good story and that players will want to keep knowing what will happen next….they won’t care about finding the next temple with the same boss over and over again.

This dude absolutely loves this game. He says it's a spoiler-free review and I didn't hear anything I would think is a spoiler unless you're one of the types who doesn't even want to know the names of the primary party members or aren't aware of some of the characters played by some of the big-name voice actors like Andy Serkis. He tests the game on Xbox and PC and uses the "play anywhere" feature.

The biggest knock he had is if you venture off the beaten path you can run into enemies you can't defeat, but they don't appear to have indicators that let you know you're venturing into one shot kill territory.

I think this game will be better than Metaphor. I also think way more people will play it since it is more approachable and the Persona calendar system turns off a lot of people.

As usual, small indie studios are putting out higher quality, more creative, more passionate projects than the AAA retards that choose to rehash the same dogshit writing and gameplay tropes over and over

Cannot wait until tomorrow!

I have a week off starting tomorrow and I am pumped.

On a side note, I’m a little annoyed that my age has already faded away in this universe.

Makes me feel old.

The money got too big. It became about meeting deadlines and hitting metrics. Game changing(for the worse imo) ideas like the battle pass hit the scene and it becomes the new subscription and revenue is through the roof. This endless cycle for what seems like almost a decade now.

It is not sustainable. Ubi is a good example.

Games and decisions regarding the game should be made by gamers who have a passion for their work. Every great game has had this formula. Investors just need to be patient and let the teams cook and the investment will pay off.
