I’ll add that you can practice dodging and getting a “perfect” dodge means your timing it right for a parry
Good point. I never thought of it that way.

I'm in the water world part and this big fricker just ate Gustave on his first attack.

Yea, he fricked me up a few times.

You can’t avoid the eating. He’ll spit them out if you break him.

I beat him, but it definitely caught me off guard.

I tried to dip, dodge, duck, dive and dodge to avoid it and he slurped 'ol Gustave up anyway.

ETA: frick that Chromatic dude. Jesus, he hits hard. Maelle was dead before I even knew what was happening.

I've hit a wall.

This is my first time playing a deep dive skill based RPG and my fear of fricking up pictos, luminas and skills is keeping me from progressing.

Without spoiling anything can I just pick whatever and still beat the game?

The main story? Yes. The final boss of the main story is level 50. You can use recoats at any time to restribute your skill points or attribute points. Tip: Just dump attribute points into whatever 2 categories your chosen weapon scales with. This works even better if its agility since that is the best stat. Distribute your lumina points evenly. In the end game you can get a massive amount easily and add onto characters specifically if you want to.

Whenever you find new pictos equip them for 4 fights to learn their passive then choose which ones to equip based off their stats to cover things like health defense and crit rates, or if they provide an extremely valuable passive that cost 30 or 40 lumina points

There are what you could call 3 super bosses in the end game. The highest of which goes up to level 99. But thats a different story than just fininishing the games main story

I've been able to play a bit the last few days. Made it to Esquie's Nest. Feel good about my party and their pictos and luminas. I'm getting better with parrying. This is a fun game.

Just a heads up. I did all the optional bosses before heading back to Lumiere

I had leveled up so high, killed Renoir in 2 or 3 turns

Yes, youre definitely meant to go straight to finish the game then do the end game. If you dont you will absolutely blow through the final stage and set piece and make it totally trivial

Yeah I’m really mad at how that shook out. I 1-shotted Clea and Renoir

They clearly ran out of time. Flying Manor and Reacher should’ve been mandatory visits in Act 3 before the finale given the narrative implications

It is also kind of weird Sciel doesnt have a side quest to tie off her relationship arc like all of the other party members. I agree they ran out of time, but I still think the game is a masterpiece

The parkour optional quest at the first Gestral Beach has me about ready to throw my controller through the television.

Just fricking run straight, Goddamnit!

Pretty cool story I just saw sandfall post online. 33 days after the games launch they surpassed 3.3 million sales and it isn’t slowing down. Incredibly impressive

Looks like a modernized version of Legend of Dragoon's battle interface.

Met the Lampmaster. He wasn't very nice. I'll give it another go when I have more time.

Does anyone else enjoy the over world to the individual levels, graphics wise?

The game is beautiful regardless of the setting, but I prefer the overworld.

I like the over world, but some of the individual worlds are just beautiful.

I killed the snake monster and Energy Master fricking rocks.

Probably won’t get to play any more until next week, but should finish it then.

I love how the game didn’t make me feel like any of my time was wasted.

Looks they they may put in a photo mode. Makes me wonder…..with a game this beautiful…why didn’t they put it in? Surely they know the demand will come.

But now im wondering if it’s a tactic. Don’t waste time and money putting in Photo mode and nobody cares = Win.

Don’t put in photo mode…people demand it….easy thing to put in…recharges the headlines and brings more people back to the game = win
