I used to play Civ 4 all the time. I bought Civ V, and it took like a minute of sitting around and doing nothing/loading between turns. I'm sure it was just because I had an older computer, but just never felt a desire to play any of the newer Civ games after that.

I have 6 but don't like it nearly as much.

I've got over 3,000 hours in Civ V with mods. I could never get into VI.

Should be a great one around Christmas '25 for $9

Civ games never get that cheap do they?

Seems even the older games never drop much below $30 or $40...

On Steam:
Civ 5 still $30
Civ 6 still $60

Yeah, they don't drop their prices too much on the Civ games.

Why 4 over 5?

I definitely get liking the older ones over the newer ones. At first I was a bit off put by the non square tiles, but now I think I would have a hard time going back.

V is still peak for me but VI has grown on me. It sucked for about a year then it got good when they ironed out the kinks.

Subjective, plus the time I put into 4 that I ultimately didn't in 5 (or 3 for that matter) and Leonard Nimoy.

I've been playing 7 a lot yesterday and today and I'm not a huge fan to be honest.

Than again, Civ6 is my favorite in the series by a large margin and one of my favorite games of all time, so take it with a grain of salt.

Humble Bundle usually has random, really good deals for Civ Games.

I was off work yesterday, so I got to put probably 8 hours into the game.

Overall, I actually enjoyed it a lot more than I expected. Definitely a game I'm going to put a hell of a lot of hours into.

I do hope they reevaluate how the ages system plays out, however. I would like to see more things carry over to the next age to maintain more of a sense of continuity between ages.

I'll be interested to see where they go with the updates and DLCs.

Wow, a bit aggressive aren't we?? Hell even on this board, you people are freaking annoying.

Here ya go, Chief... Try to argue that I posted erroneous prices from Steam. I just again copied and pasted today's prices for the Civ 6 and Civ 5 game on Steam. If you found a sale somewhere where these two games are cheaper, link it.

There are expansions and content packs to these games that are under $10. Is that what you're talking about? Are you confused? I think that rock I live under fell on your head.

Makes me laugh when ignorant and pretentious people think they are correct about something when they're not.

Like I said, if I'm wrong, link your source for these games being sold at $15 and below. Maybe you got the games during a big sale. I don't care. I listed current Steam prices just like I did in the above post, and I linked my source down below.

Hint: the game prices for Civ 5 through Civ 7 are the first three games at the top of the list.

Steam

Please respond. I want to hear what else you have to say. I can sit here and continue this stupid arguing over video game pricing if you want. I want to know where you go from here. What's your next move?

I...uh...don't have a horse in this race, but I got Civ VI back when it was free in the Epic Store in 2020. Granted that was 3.5 years after release.

why would I care about today's prices when we mentioned the price of VII nine months from now...and the VI price months ago ?

you were the one that said they were never that cheap and then several people agreed that they are sometimes...
