I pre-ordered Plague Tale Requiem on August 1, and as of 8:00 AM this morning, it hasn't shipped yet (released today), and Amazon estimated an 11/9 arrival date.
Amazon robot customer support lady is like "oh we just got them today, and we are packaging everyone's orders for shipping which is why there is a delay."
Amazon has been straight unreliable trash since Covid.

Imagine buying discs in 2022

Never understood the point of pre-ordering a disc since 2010 call of duty. I remember going to Best Buy for midnight releases for there to be a line of 200 people. Just a few years later and it’s pointless.

I don't understand the point of buying a game that is day 1 game pass when it is single player only. you can buy a month subscription and beat a game for $15.
If you are just paying extra to support the dev is all i can think of.
the first game was beatable in 10-15 hours

Im interested in this game and would buy the disc too because i never played the first one. In fact i was thinking about buying the first one since they do have it on disc for 14.99 to see if this is a game i would enjoy playing.

I haven't bought a disc since the second I could buy all games digitally.

I have more physical copies of Switch games than anything because I have a place where I can get used copies of the first party Nintendo titles for $21

I buy physical games and donate them to a charity for foster kids when I'm done.

I buy plenty of games digitally. Pretty much all PC games I own are digital, and I have a sizable library of console digital games.
That said, unless digital becomes cheaper (no manufacturing costs), it's ultimately just a power grab by developers/publishers under the disguise of convenience.
Too many digital only games have disappeared completely from existence when publishers' rights "ran out" or because the service just died (stadia).

I bend over backwards to buy everything physically. With how much digital media is vanishing off digital storefronts, I don't want to lose access to things I've paid for.

Amazon
is a joke, especially their sales.
I can find as good or a better deal locally. And it's not worth$120, let alone $50 for their service.
Suckers, each and every one of them who pay for the service.

Yeah, I used to order a couple of times a week from Amazon, but they are so unreliable and the quality is so poor, I only order from them if I have to these days.

First one was really good. I'm hoping this one will be good too.
Got it downloading on the XBox atm.
