I liked AW because it had Kevin Spacey.

I have a background with Timesplitters and Unreal Tournament, so I guess that hectic fast paced stuff doesn't bother me.

AW's only redeeming quality.

Honest question, did you give AW a try?

I played it enough to prestige.

Simplicity works so long as you have a solid competitive backdrop. I wish they would have added league play for Cod4 remastered.

This is so true.

I feel like any game's competitive scene drives its success.

What do you mean by competitive scene? Like the Mountain Dew drinking Dri-Fit bowling shirt wearing CoDoucehbag events they hold?

A league system or ranked play. Like getting a 50 in halo 3.

Or Ranked like in Siege? Because that's kinda fun.

Don't play Siege but probably. Cod4 never had that and it's an easy fix.

Just wondering, but does anyone here still play Ghosts? I never played it but did a little research into it and it seems like it has a decent base still on PS4. The Hardened Edition is only $15.

I look at things like Counter Strike, League of Legends, Star Craft...

They all have solid pro-scenes that bring in tons of viewers.

Take the NFL. People watch it, it's popular, and as a kid you want to go out, play and mimic the pros. There's betting involved, fantasy leagues, etc... (for both NFL and video games)

If you're just playing a game that has no pro scene or competitive play aspect, it will likely die out quickly, as the player base will shrink.

Yes i have tried the futuristic games and the thing i hate the most about them are the fricking widgets, gadets that take away from the original intent of the game being a "shooter" game. I mean the originals you carried a Gun, gernades, and maybe something to shoot down something. You may have encountered a landmine but that was it. The skill was to see how long you could go to get the high kill streaks. Then BO2 started this whole trend of flying things in the air you couldnt see, widgets that killed you with no warning. Killstreaks became unreachable unless you were with a team.

These days the games are unplayable to us original call of duty people because the focus has shifted from just trying to shoot another player in front/behind you to running into 20 things that can kill you with out being seen . So yeah you might say i'll be happy with a return to a simpler time when i had a gun and a few grenades .

Ghosts sucked. It feels like an unfinished game.

I've read where the competitive scene liked its Search and Destroy better than the previous two CODs. Probably because the movement systems and specialists add a lot of randomness into the game.

I wonder if COD4 remastered will get any type of comp scene going. Activision will support Infinite Warfare so I highly doubt it.

What if there are more players playing CoD4 Remastered than Infinite Warfare, which I can definitely see happening?

Wish the they could make a best of From originals stopping right before blacks ops 2.
Say 5 to 6 maps from each. Have about 30 remasterd maps
That would be awesome or they could just make a game that was similar to todays timeframe not the year 2060 or higher .
