I got into the habit of using weapons and throwing them at enemies for extra damage right before they’d break on me. Problem with that strategy is you have to keep a shitload of weapons on hand or be willing to use whatever you find laying around.

The game is so damn good that the weapon durability was done piss poor that it didn’t even change my opinion of the game.

That being said, there’s a way to get creative with the combat and making swords break in like 5 hits ain’t frickin it. Hope they do away with that nonsense next game.

Sky Islands

I think they learned from Dragon Quest not to mess with the weapons

Thanks for posting those videos. I am excited for the game. I've never started over from my first play through, but did yesterday. I thought I'd be bored and frustrated not having all the attributes, but it was fun having to get creative again.

I'm avoiding a replay just because they're using the same map for the next game (which I vehemently disagree with, but what can you do?)

They're going vertical, baw.

The weapon durability system ruined it for me

Yep, recently played and beat it for the first time and this killed it from being a near perfect game for me. The stamina system was really obnoxious as well. I hope those get fixed in the new game.

The graphics in Tears and BOTW blows my mind. Especially when you are in an area inside with water and you go up and in.

I remember how pissed I got when I talked to a grifter I thought sold weapons. Then he robbed me just when my sword started breaking down and it started raining lightening

The volcano area sucked losing energy even with the special heat armor. It has been years. I played on the Wii.

Anyone else revisit it recently?

Yes. Played it 4 years ago with my oldest boy, now playing it with my youngest. Easily my favorite game of the last 20 years.

Music in BOTW

Stables theme song the most calming music in the game

Range of Sheikah Sensor

Also what is the creepy music in Tears? It is hauntingly creepy.

Started it back up a couple of weeks ago in master mode. Forgot exactly how much time I sunk into it, and now I'm not sure if I started too late to be finished by the time TotK releases.

The weapon durability is even more of an issue in master mode, but really you just need to stealth it in the early game which I have no problem with (and actually find it fun). I offset a lot of the durability issues early by sneaking to the phantom armor right after the plateau since they're all nearby, and give you a 3x attack bonus right out of the gate.

It's "only" on Nintendo, but there are plenty of people who play on their PC. I'm not sure where they get it from, but at least it's possible. There also appear to be a ton of mods and add-ons that people have created for the PC, so there's that.

Speaking of Zelda, Trump, Biden, and Obama recently jumped on a call and made a tier list covering all of the Zelda games. It's worth listening to.
