is the DLC worth it? i'd hate to get it if BF4 comes out this year and only spend 8 or 9 months with old stuff.

If you want good DLC that is worthwhile, get Back to Karkand and Aftermath. The other two are just okay.
ETA: The only bad thing that would bug me about not having Close Quarters is missing out on 10 weapons. You also get 10 weapons with Back to Karkand. You can use those weapons on any map.

It's not bad. I found a copy of the Premium edition on Amazon that came with them all for around $40 or so. I downloaded them

Have there been any new DLC's since close quarters? I haven't REALLY played since like August.. I remember new maps coming soon the last time I played
