Runescape Classic was the most fun I've ever had while playing an MMO.

In the early days of EQ, it was a blast to do. I can remember pulling for hours outside of Karnor's Castle and loving every minute of it.

I did it to. It was fun then. But we also didn't know any better then.

We didn't know how to have fun with friends and guildies? While I agree that it was a ground breaking game at the time, I still have the best memories from it no matter how many MMOs I have played.

RF Online. Best PVP by far of any game. And when you get down to it, there is no other reason to play a MMO.

EQ before it was dumbed down to make it accessible to the masses was something to behold.

It wasn't for nothing it was called EverCrack.

But now? Probably Eve IMO, even though it's not everyone's cup of tea.

I hate PVP in MMO's, so your point is not valid.

In fact, I would say that most people do NOT play MMO's for PVP.

Interesting choice of game.

Well since I could not fricking stand either SWG or EVE, I will disagree.

Whoa. Did you get in SWG before Jedi was a starting option? The original (before the first major combat overhaul) was far and away the best MMO I've played.

I was in SWG in the first phase of beta when practically everything was broken. (To be expected)

That game just did not do it for me.

SWG pre-CU was amazing. Wasn't linear at all, you could master any and every class without making a bunch of different toons, you could buy your own house, and the process of becoming a Jedi was awesome. Get a good buff at the spaceport then go murder some Tusken Raiders or take on a graul on Dantooine.

EVE Online for realz.

Edit: I didn't like EVE till the 3rd time I tried it. It honestly doesn't get fun until you have 3 or 4 months of skill points. Also if you don't like PVP and getting on TS/Mumble and socializing I can see why people would not like it. The game is all about PVP and the community.

Once you get "it" though you really can't stop.

As a PVE (Endgame) only MMO gamer, I have to say WoW.

People say it's too easy. It may be easy, but when you have a good group that you play with, it's a blast.

GW2 was a blast of a leveling experience like no other, but dungeons really didn't fit in to what I want in a game and disappointed me. Having everyone running around with no real set roles was just a headache to me. Like I said, if you want a leveling experience like no other, GW2 would be a nice pickup.

WoW is like a science at the endgame for a lot of classes. Addons are pretty sweet, lets you customize your experience some, and I think they have come a long way in some of the boss fight designs, this is coming from a player who has played since Vanilla.

The magic isnt quite there like it used to be for WoW, but it's still my favorite. I'm not a player who thinks WoW > all, but no other game has yet to impress me/get me hooked as WoW did.

I tried this and on my 26" led, the graphics were horrible. I tried all I could to relive my glory days, but I couldn't get past how bad the graphics have aged.

And SWG really had it all. Huge range of character identities/paths, open world pvp, huge tracts of land to explore, player housing/player cities, a true crafting system, the list goes on and on.

That game was broken because people whined about notbeing able to be a jedi. Towards the end, all that existed in the world was jedis running around in groups obliterating everything in their path. The developers destroyed what could have been a masterpiece among MMO's.

This.

Although I do recognize Eve's appeal has a narrow focus.

But the free form aspect of the game and how it is a completely player driven capitalistic free market environment makes it a clear winner to me.

I also like the lack of money grab for expansions: you already pay 15 dollars a month.....no need for bullshite features geared into creating haves and have nots to drive sales.

Although the Trinity patch contained one of the biggest frickups in MMO release history.
