I dropped out of Battlefield a long time ago. An odd thing I am seeing from a lot of my trusted review sites is that they are up and down on this one.
One publication will say that they're amazed how good it turned out, and another will say it's absolutely shite.

BFV has the best gunplay I’ve seen in a battlefield game to date. It feels extremely good. The maps are pretty good too. They made the maps smaller, but not too small either, so action is more fast paced. I’ve played all the maps. Narvick and Rotterdam are near the bottom if I ranked the maps in this game. Explains why the beta felt so underwhelming. Best battlefield game to come out since 3 or 4. Hardline and BF1 don’t hold a candle to this one

That’s how I felt from the Beta. I loved it, best BF I’ve played yet. But then I looked at what was available on launch and knew I’d get bored fast. I’m sure the final product will be amazing. I’ll be there to grab it in March

First Tides of War event is called Overture, supposedly released Dec 4th. Should get full details this week. All new content is free for everyone of course.

I played an hour here or there over the long weekend, but took off work today and it's all I did for about 6 hours. I really like what they have here, but there is some definite patching that needs to be done.
There are little details that are missing, nothing major, just annoyances. Such as on Breakthrough, you don't know if you are Attacking or Defending on the initial loadout until after the game starts. Little stuff like that.
Great tight gun play however, and some fantastically detailed maps.

I'm loving the M1907 SF, going to have it gold soon. It's not considered a top gun but it mows people down quick. I've been owning with it.

TL;DR
Not touching TTK/TTD just yet.
Revive mechanic getting tweaked and will be a bit faster.
Medic weapons getting buffed. Assault weapons nerfed.
Ton of weapon balancing. KE7 getting hit hard.
