I played Friday night on the big TV on PS5. It was miserable but I still had fun. Next morning was like frick this I'm all in on this one so I went out and bought a PS5 Pro and then hooked up to my monitor.
Getting 120fps made all the difference.
Noticed a lot of my lobbies are full on ps5 lobbies which is nice.

Snipes have been crispy so far. Good to be back to a solid Battlefield game. Unlocking the recon drone is pinnacle trolling. Gotten quite a few kills and vehicle destroys blowing up a team's own mines/explosives.
Been running prettys smooth. My computer isn't super high end these days, but still able to usually hover around 100 fps without running everything on low. The quest to optimize all settings begins this week

Are there any metas or guns I should be working on upgrading? I have basically just been using the first gun from each class and don’t know if I should be working towards leveling up any of the different ones I’ve unlocked

M4A1 for carbines, NVO for AR is really strong. The starting SMG, the SGX is a beast if you like that playstyle.
Snipers - the starting one is all you really need. LMG's are meh, but not bad. Shotguns, pick your poison. They are very strong still. I'd assume most of the higher level weapons haven't been unlocked much yet, so some may change or be added as people get used to them.
Battlefield has generally had an issue where certain guns clearly outclass the others in their category, however, the game lends itself to a lot of playstyles so there isn't one set loadout that you feel like you have to play, compared to other games.

I have been using the M4A1 mostly and is likely the most balanced weapon right now. Think it’s about maxed out and may start working on that awesome starter SMG next.
I noticed I have been dying by a variety of weapons. I see LMG’s killing me more than I have any in FPS. Which is good.
I find the “meta” in BF isn’t as important as it is in CoD as that is an arcade shooter…really limited to a small box so the meta is more important. Plus I think CoD and its ambassadors purposely feeds off this “meta”. CoD says new gun is out…new gun is meta…you must pay to level up to stay competitive or you rage trying the old fashioned way. It’s a scam.
In BF it’s that big sandbox and it allows for more many more ways to approach and attack so just take what ever gun is appropriate to your style and class.

Been playing some since friday.
i like it. not super crazy fun but a good time for an hour or two.
But man....am i arse. im usually fairly decent to good at FPS/hero shooters. I cant seem to win a 1v1 on this to save my fricking life.

When I was running 60fps its was difficult. I really had to slow down because run and gun just wasn’t going to cut it.
Once I got to 120fps and tweaked some of those over the top controller settings it’s been great. Been running a 1.6 K/D since…compared to 1.0 prior.

you should check out the B36A4 (AR), PW7A2 (SMG), KORD 6P67 (AR), & LMR67 (DMR).

Done. One of these you prefer over the other? Just to start with and then I’ll move down the list. Been noticed that PW shredding me…is it better than the base SMG?

that B36 i find is a bit more consistent at medium to long range than the M4. Probably not as great up close and personal compared to the M4.
The KORD has the highest fire rate for ARs. Think an AK but higher fire rate and great control. It shreds at medium range.
The PW7 is the MP7. And if you can control the recoil it’s a very fast kill in CQB. I don’t have many attachments on mine yet, but i feel like I win more CQB 1:1’s than i do with the SGX.

I’m on XBox and Pevy uses the xbox PC App to join my party. He can explain how he has that setup but it’s a bit more reliable right now than the squad chat it seems. We could hear you every once in a while, then we’d try to talk to you and never hear back. No worries tho.

I just ignored you guys. JK. Football was on in the background and I wasn’t about to put y'all through that.
Felt bad a few times when yall were trying to Rez me but died cuz an enemy was nearby and I could not call it out.
Since I’m on ps5 I think squad chat is the only way I could chat unless it’s through discord.

All good. We’ll try squad chat next time we party up. We won couple matches in a row there together. Let us know if you have a preferred playlist / game type. Generally we roll with one game type until we lose then switch it up.

Copy that and it’s not the end of the world if it’s just terrible and yall need to jump into a chat. I rather two people be able to communicate instead of none.
We did go on a nice run there. Not sure who the 3rd was but thank that guy for me…a selfless medic <3.
I also am down to play whatever whenever. If it’s got an objective I’m going for it.
