I have about three to four hours in the multiplayer so far, and overall it has been a solid experience.
I didn’t run into any of the install or loading problems that others have mentioned on PC. No login queues, and matchmaking has worked fine except for one instance where I was dropped into a Breakthrough match with about 40 tickets left.
Performance has been stable. No crashes, glitches, or connection issues so far. The interface still feels too much like a streaming app, but it is at least an improvement compared to what we have seen in other FPS titles.
Weapon and class balance feel good at this point. Nothing seems overpowered, and there is a healthy mix of viable choices even from lvl 1. I have mainly been using the M4A1, SGX, and EBR, and gameplay feels responsive and smooth. I even managed a 54-kill round on Breakthrough before taking a break. Which was with an EBR with no attachments.
The daily, weekly, and overall progression challenges are a nice addition. They give you consistent goals to work toward without making the grind feel forced. The gadget unlocks being locked behind lvl 20 kinda sucks, but i get it.
So far so good for Battlefield 6. Definitely a return to form for Dice. It’s gonna be a banger. And compared to the disaster that was BF2042 this is a very solid launch day IMO. And I’m dying for my kids to go to bed tonight so I squad up with the boys.

I would definitely recommend everyone looking up and following one of the many “Battlefield 6 Settings” videos before getting to deep in. There’s a lot vibration, motion, blur, etc etc effects that are distracting AF IMO.
Unless you’re looking to be fully immersed of course.

Good detailed review.
Mine is a little more brief. I have no interest playing COD MP over this.
If the BR that BF6 puts out is good, Activision might should be in panic mode.

Running like a dream and no queues. Having a great time.

I suck at this game

Ya I agree, that’s one thing in BO6 you didn’t have to mess with. I’m charging up my controller now and say no to the keyboard

Man… the simplicity of one attachment and everyone having the same 3 killstreaks. The MW2 revolutionized it.

It’s pretty different if you’re coming from CoD. Once you get used to the maps you’ll get a little better. HIPFIRE in close fights. I cannot stress this enough

Yeah, I played a couple rounds and was like WTF. I even snuck up on a couple of guys, and after I shot them, they just turned around and killed me.
…don’t even get me started about watching dozens of people jump over my body while begging for a revive.

Conquest was my favorite mode in the Beta, but breakthrough is playing really well right now. Pretty much all I’ve played so far.

Getting in a squad with people you know is so much more fun than playing with randoms.

its fun I do wish they made shotguns op like in the beta and the movement was more fluid like in the beta again.
It's way too fast, if i played this game in 2015, i would think it was call of duty. RIP

That’s an interesting critique, considering DICE’s last title, Battlefield 2042, leaned waaaay further away from realism.
2042 had even more of arcade-style gunplay, exaggerated movement, and futuristic gadgets that made it feel detached from the “boots on the ground” style the BF series is known for.
