Its here boys, sorta, I will be pulling trigger on this as soon as it comes up today early access be damned. Very stoked. I think BG 1 and 2 are in the top echelon of RPG games all time. I hope Larian Studios can pull this off.

I never played the Baldur's gate games back in the day, but recently bought them to try to get more immersed in the world. I loved DOS2, but still haven't finished it. I loved the mechanics, but the story never really grabbed me the way I wanted it to. Probably because I didn't have much connection to the world. I'm still in the middle of Baldur's gate 1, but I'll probably go ahead and pick this up.

Was hoping someone would make a post. Looking forward to watching this today. Sounds like everyone’s play through can be somewhat unique based on what you do.

Drops at 1PM Eastern.

Make sure your hard drives are cleaned up boys and girls, you'll need 150 gigs of free space.

ETA: Just in case you're old school and want to load it from 3.5 floppies, it'll only take 110,493 of them.

Downloading now. Even though they said 150GB, it looks like early access only needs about 60.

Dropped too much on consoles; let me know how it is. I’ll probably buy it later on.

I’d bet money that the price won’t drop for well over a year or longer. Considering this is early access and they won’t discount it until a few months after the full release at the earliest.

Really fun so far. Combat is awesome.

Camera is wonky as hell though. Hoping they fix it.

Only 60 gigs right now. Ended up downloading it. Having a blast so far, only an hour or so in though. Its definitely a graphical upgrade over DOS2. I keep getting surprised how beautiful it is.

wouldnt surprise me. it's more of my way of pushing myself to finish D:OS and D:OS2 before buying another.

i dont know how i managed to get stuck in D:OS at level 15.

Just ran into a bunch of dead ends on quests

Say what now? Might have to check it out. I remember BG combat being a clunky Diablo.

BG3's combat is turn based, very much like Divinity Original Sin 2. The original BG's were all "real time with pause" which I agree isn't very engaging for me. That's why BG3, to me, is turning out to be a great game so far, even in early access. On my playthrough of BG1 that I started a month ago, I'm really into the world and story but the combat is kinda boring. At the same time, I love fights in DOS2, but never got hooked by the world.

Yup. At first I didn't think I'd like it since it never really clicked with me when playing DOS, but I got used to it after a bit and really like it now.

Much better than the old school BG/BG2 combat.

A lot of fun so far.

Nice array of characters as well, NPCs have flavor to them. Fewer than other games though, so not as many caricatures of personalities in order to get them all in, at least so far.

Only 6 classes to select from, but should be enough. Fighter, Ranger, Thief, Cleric, Wizard, Warlock

Your character is only voiced in a couple of spots, but the NPCs are fully voiced. Plus I'm barely into it and I've already got some choices that feel like they're going to turn the direction of the story one way or another.

Ya, I know. I also have a mouse bind to recenter the camera.

It's still just wonky for me.
