I am not remotely interested in it right now, but are those like me behind the curve?

Games just are not there yet. Down the line I think it will be worthwhile.

Some of Sony's VR are the first games that even remotely interested me.

Still going to be a wait and see, but that RE looked tight.

Sony made me interested in it, but at 400$ it doesn't really look like it's worth it.

until they can convince me that VR games are more than glorified mobile titles, no we are not sleeping on VR.

This might be the first time VR makes some actual noise in the market. I still wouldn't shell out the cash for it, not right now, but some of the presentations this year make it look like more than just novelty.

I sleep with my VR headset next to me, does that count?

I have the cheap Samsung gear VR that i got free with my Galaxy S7 purchase.

I'm curious to what the VR industry holds in the coming next couple of years. While my VR set doesn't hold a candle next to say the Vibe I'm almost afraid to play something like Skrim/witcher in VR.

The immersion you get with VR (even the cheaper ones) just blew my mind, and this is just playing simple games in occulus app store and using the headset in general.

I wouldn't call it sleeping, I'd just call it a bit too early to go to it. Majority can't afford the hardware to get into it, and there isn't enough content yet for it to justify that cost. At least that's my thoughts on it.

No. It is just like recent motion controls, 3D at home, and curved TVs.

Companies push it thinking they will move lots of units, but in the end it won't go well. In the end, people want well made games and movies played traditionally, not shite ported over to adapt to a technology that really isn't demanded.

I finally received my Samsung Gear VR for buying an S7. I played with it for about 30 minutes last week. I have to go through the Oculus network, so none of the free VR games in the Play Store worked.

The functionality is very cool, but like others have said, the games aren't there yet. The video and picture interfaces are good, and some of the "made for VR" videos were cool as well.

My 5 year old watched a video as Ironman fighting through Stark Tower. He enjoyed that. But it (the Gear VR) definitely just seems like a gimmick at this point.

Speaking of, VR seems like the perfect platform for a sleep simulator.

Sure haven't, may give it a try though!
I'd like to tinker with it more than I have, I just need to spend the $20 and order a gamepad for it so I can play more game. Very few work without it.

I got the POWER A MOGA Hero and it works great. I use for all my android emulators as well.

I think it's just a silly gimmick that will fade out.

It doesn't help it's getting mixed reaction at E3 with different franchises. It's pretty good for Batman, shite for Final Fantasy XV, an just okay for Resident Evil 7.

Are the VR headsets only going to be for games or will they expand content to things like virtual travel. It would be badass to watch an LSU game in VR or say, walk through a museum in VR.
