re: Anybody here think fortnite is better than PUBG?

PUBG wasted its potential by not optimizing the game. It’s all about the money for them. So it’s really hard to want to play a game that puts Xbox release and skins in before they upgrade performance. No care for their community. Struggling to even fill it most popular map as of recent.

Meanwhile the Fortnite team actively posts on the subreddit and is constantly jamming new content into the game. Much rather reward a team like that with my business

epic is pretty fricking legit.
Gears of War 1-3 were amazing.
I see Tencent has a stake in them, they also own League of Legends.

This right here. PUBG barely plays on the new Xbone. Hell, I paid almost $1700 for a high end ASUS 3 years ago with 12gb of Ram, and it literally won't run PUBG well enough to play. I would get less than 15fps, and my rendering distance would be 15 ft. That game requires so much fricking hardware it limits the player pool.
Whereas my comp runs Fortnite on smedium settings, and I get 35-50fps. Not great, but easily playable.
Edit: and it's the same fricking game engine.

battlepass is $10 each season. provides additional weekly challenges that allow one to earn emotes, cosmetics, concept art, etc that you couldnt otherwise get. allows you to earn in-game currency as well, which can be used to purchase the "gucci pickaxes" and whatnot, though i've never seen a pickaxe go for that much. Premium holiday skins maybe, but not a pickaxe. The best pickaxes can be unlocked in the battlepass.

I always see this thrown around over here, but I just don’t get it...
I play for an hour or two basically every night, and I can’t tell you the last time I’ve had performance issues..
The only snag I occasionally have is when it takes a few seconds for the houses and loot to load up when I land, and that only lasts for a few seconds

You gonna jump in that fortnite game for some gucci pickaxe action?

You sound misinformed.

I don't like the building element of the game at all.
I hated it until I got decent at it, now that's my favorite element of the game. Builder-pro is pretty awesome

zero chance. I don't like the art style

Gun play in fortnite sucks which is keeping me away, but I guess it's mostly due to building since that turns most fights into random shotgun bursts
Posted on 4/16/18 at 2:31 pm to hawgfaninc
I have played both, and while Fortnite ran better, I didn't like the overall vibe of the game.
The building aspect is just not for me. I'm sure I could get used to it, but I don't have time to play 4-5 different games, so I just stick to PUBG.
The "realism" aspect of PUBG is a big thing for me as well. Not really into the cartoony type of atmosphere.
I don't hate on the game, I just have no interest in playing it.
