You aren’t screwed. I got the two people I ran into to come, but there was a random person who came as well.
I think the order is random.
That worked. I got the materials ready for the other 2 houses and went to a mystery island. Fauna the deer was there. I invited her. Today Audie showed up to claim house 2 and Fauna is coming tomorrow for house 3. Now I just have to get rid of Big Top and find another villager. I put a fence around Big Top's house and threw trash in his front yard so he gets the idea to leave.
I appreciate the help.

Daisy Mae has turnips on sale for 90 bells on my island - Dodo Code GTK7G if anyone wants to buy here. Don't need a ladder or vaulting pole to get anywhere on my island so you can leave all tools at home if you want to max your inventory out. She was last seen somewhere along the south/southeast beach area.

So pissed:
I just had a smug bear move in since he was the first campsite visitor. I built his and another plot for a prospective ‘villager 8’ yesterday and went island hunting for new person to move in. I visited roughly 4-5 islands yesterday but all the animals didn’t get my approval.
I came very very close to accepting a snooty female wolf at the end of the day but last second I opted not to...
So, yesterday the bear moved in, but there’s no new person visiting the campsite yesterday or today. And now the other plot says ‘SOLD’. Tom sold it to a damn snooty anteater who’s actual name is Snooty that I’ve never met.
Has anyone here actually had success on booting a villager yet? I’m starting day 1. Whatever it takes. Her face on her online picture is even punchable.

Booting a villager without the campsite trick or amiibo card is tough.
Campsite trick - When you have a visitor want you can ask them to move in if you talk to them enough. They will ask to replace a random villager, but if you reset it when they mention the name, you can try again and see if they say a new name. Do that one at your own risk as it involves closing the game and resetting. And I have heard that at some point in the dialog the choice "locks in" and won't change on a reset.
To boot them straight - it took nearly 3 weeks of constant complaining and then whacking Maggie 3 times on the head for three days to get her to move. Honestly, I don't know what triggered it. A random villager will ask you to move every 7 days and it doesn't seem complaining changes that too much. Using a net to whack them on the head until they get sad seemed to be the best way.

Y’all were building the campsites before you invited people?
I invited people before I built the campsites and that ensures only the people I want move there

Thanks for the 11,000 turnips
I dropped my watering can to carry more turnips. Forgive my mess.

It's all good! Glad you were able to take advantage of Daisy Mae's crazy prices!

Internet crashed, new dodo code 867G8
She still has these prices for 25 minutes.

You sure that's how that works? I found if I had houses available, Tom would sell them to people I had never seen before neither on NMT islands nor at the campsite. A plot would just magically say sold one day and a random ton would be unpacking tomorrow.
I have an island full of people I have no desire for. I beat the shite out of them daily with my net.

Yes I am sure. I did not build a house until I had already invited someone. Not only didn’t build it, I didn’t put the plot down I kept the kit in my inventory.
I had invited 4 people to live on my island before I put the first site down much less even built it. So then when I went and built the plots they sold to the people I had already invited. It’s worked everytime and I’m up to 5 people now.
It makes sense. The game is very much set up in two ways. Almost everything has a set and forget it feature or an active management feature. If you don’t want to root for people just set up the plots and Tom sells them. If you do, invite people first.

My turnips were at 102. Bought a little over 10,000 turnips. Spent over a million bells so hopefully it's a good week

I'm not sure about the campsite visitors but for my initial 3 plots I messed up on the first by building it and a random person moved in. For the other 2 I finished everything on the plot except for 1 item each. I put that item in storage. I had already invited Audie. I went island hopping and found Fauna. I invited her, went back to my island and quickly put the missing item in each house plot. Audie moved in today and Fauna is moving in tomorrow. Not sure if it works the same for the campsite visitor.

Went 8000 turnips at 90 each. I would've gone more if the game would give you a space to put them other than your house floors.

I have two villagers that I don't want. I'm gonna try to make some amiibo cards out of NFC tags next week when they come in. Mainly doing it to get rid of two specific ones. Gayle and Pinky. Might boot T-Bone if he keeps being a dick

Yep, I did the same thing as well.
