I think the warps save to the server, so he can /setwarp UnderwaterGarden or whatever himself, then we can /warp UnderwaterGarden to get there.
For anyone new that joins, the stone building near the spawn is mine. Inside the first room on the left when you go in, there are two storage bins. The left has cobblestone tools. The right has some dirt and sand and other materials. They are there for the taken.
The first room on the right has 5 furnaces and crafting tables. This is open for anyone to use (not that I could stop you if I claimed it was closed
). Feel free to make use of them to make your smelting go a little quicker. It's very close to /spawn.

oh well in that case I saved warp points alpha-echo.
I think you might be able to overwrite them

Hmm, just tried /warp alpha and it didn't port me, might be saved per person with the current setup. I was on a different server yesterday where it was open for all so I just assumed haha.

Interesting, I just checked and there isn't a warp alpha in the save file.
There are a couple of 1s and test1 test3

Just tested it...warp points are global.
There is simply no warp alpha in the listing.

Tried the free single player and it was boring, is there anything in the new version that makes it better?
Posted on 10/5/10 at 12:20 am to Vols22
free single player, is that creative mode?
Like you have unlimited of everything?

yeah, but you can't craft and there are no monsters
pay is much better and will only get better once it goes beta and beyond.
Oh, I just put a shitload of cobblestone in the "community" chest in the stone structure near the spawn because I had an inventory full in search of diamond

Although you probably won't like SMP, as while you can mine/craft there aren't hostiles.
Singleplayer is fun though.

Okay, something that I stumbled upon:
If you are going to use warp commands a lot, keep in mind that if you do so long distance you are putting a serious load on the program and your computer hardward as it has to render vertices in 300 titles in all directions as opposed to gradually loading them as you move normally. Its a consequence of having a fully malleable/destructable world and why most games don't do it....when you have the feature you have to render the entire world with no shortcuts....everything you see and a lot you don't needs to be calculated.
Recommend lightening the load on the computer to a shorter render distance on your client if you find this happens to you.

Posted on 10/5/10 at 1:28 am to saintsfan92612

Nice.
Yeah, after I posted last, I got on and we tested warps and they seemed to work. Not sure what happened with the alpha-echo ones.

-Pc or mac
-I guess the closest thing is a rpg althought it has no real objective.
- graphics are basic. Everything is proected in blocks, but that's the style of the game.
- basically you start o in a randomly generated world where you mine minerals from caves and mountains. You craft items
with minerals you collect. You can build a house, castle, or anything. It's a pretty fun game for one with no objective.
Go to minecraft.net or YouTube to look at videos.

1) Its in alpha, so understand that it is a work in progress.
Updates come weekly with a big one coming up on Halloween
2) Game play is mostly sandbox. You build whatever in the world. You can even build simple logic based circuits. One dude even built a working 16-bit ALU in minecraft.
While multiplayer doesn't have them yet (or at least, health hasn't been activated in multi yet so they can't hurt you and it is difficult to kill them. I could activate spawning on the server, but it would be mostly annoying), zombies, and such come out at night, so you have to rush the first day to build shelter to spend the night.
Or you can craft simple weapons to fend them off, but they hurt a lot and I wouldn't recommend it. At least not at the start when your weapon is shitty and you have no food or armor.
Graphically, it is very simple. But that is because it has to be. Where most games just renders the surface, the completely destructible nature of the world means that your graphics card needs to render the entire world in your immediate area, for the top of the sky down into the ground till you hit the lava layer.
As stated elsewhere, it runs both PC and Mac.
FWIW, this thread will probably answer most of your questions, or at least give you more insight.
