Mike Andersons, Walk Ons, and Chimes are all super established businesses at this point though. What is going to seperate Your Mom's to put them over the top and draw in the crowd that would otherwise be going to one of these places?

I think Chimes is the only one out of those 3 that has really good food consistently by the way.

I doubt it beats the hell out of chimes.

Chimes also has probably the 2nd best beer selection in the city. Your moms beer selection is pretty terrible.

Right but nobody is forcing you to order a burger when you go there. Plus, barcadia is right around the corner and they have a very good burger.

I'm chill man, and we're just talking about the food in general at those locations. I don't think many people are eating at Chimes to have a burger with Raul's, five guys. and Barcadia all on the same block is all I was saying.

If you are in Covington Your Mom's isn't in the area either, so I don't know what that has to do with anything.

Based on this thread I decided to give Your Mom's another try in Hammond. The first time me and my wife tried it we were not impressed at all.

So we gave it several months and decided to go again last week. Once again we left disappointed and felt like our money could have been spent better elsewhere in Hammond. The burgers just do not taste all that great, the buns were very good just the meat was very bland it seemed. Or something was lacking taste other than the bun. We ordered an appetizer, one beer, 2 hamburgers and I think our total with tip ended up being like $42. In regards to the Hammond location, I can think of 3-4 places in Hammond that have better hamburgers and are cheaper.

If the BR location is anything like Hammond, I will be avoiding it. There are better places out there for a hamburger.

I heard today from somebody who's been that said it was a huge burger. Said the salads are huge too. Like a head of lettuce huge.

i cant put my finger on why the burgers are subpar...like burgeman said they just dont taste good. certainly edible but not in any way memorable. i dont know if its the meat, seasoning, cooking method or what but every one ive had there was bland, dry and completely uninteresting

Nothing. We ate there the other night and I thought the burger was okay. the fries were okay, the roast beef po boy was good. Nothing different than a dozen other bar and grills around town

Agree that the name Table is terrible.
I dont even know what IPO stands for.

I think you meant to say Olive or Twist. I think that is a pretty good name and Your Mom's is good in a laid back way.

Let me ask you this. What are some good names of restaurants?

Totally agree burgeman. I live in Hammond and had heard nothing but raves about the burgers at Your Mom's for months. A group of us went for lunch there on a Tuesday for the $5 burger special so at least it was cheap, but definitely nothing that I would want to go back for. Even the Mooyah's at SLU has a better burger.

Can you tell me the 3 or 4 places in Hammond you think are good? I used to think Mariner's was the best but the last one I got there a few months ago was dry and tasteless.

I get the jalapeno bacon burger at Chimes quite a bit. With fries, it's $8.95. I can't get a similar burger with fries from either of those other places for that price. And the new bun at Chimes is better than the previous one. Add the fact that I can get a good beer to go along with it, and it's a winner.

But I'm a Chimes homer, so take that for what it's worth. I like Barcadia's burgers, but they are damn proud of them. By the time you add fries, the cost really adds up.

here are my favorites...mind you this is hammond so we grade on a curve

1) lees drive in
2) tacos and beer (surprisingly goo burger)
3) original lee's
4) bradys/mariners are good sometimes, not good others
