WWL Recipes by Frank Davis and Buster Ambrosia

I came across this bundle of about 70 recipes obtained long ago from a garage sale. I believe they're from the Frank Davis/Buster Ambrosia weekend radio show they used to have.
These are from 1978. In order to get the featured recipe, you had to mail in a request with a return paid envelope.
This is the first page of the booklet:
Do you have a recipe you want me to look for?

Do they have the oyster dressing recipe in it (Chef Ambrosia)? I'd like to see that because my Maw Maw's recipe was used for one he posted in the Times Picayune many years ago. There is a particular ingredient that would give it away, if so.

I loved watching Chef Buster as a kid. He was on the PBS series Great Chefs of New Orleans.
I thought pretty highly of Frank till I met him at Sportmas Show..... he was a prick.

Grated sweet potato as a thickener. I have the recipe somewhere, written down.

I was driving back from Grand Isle one summer afternoon twenty something years ago and he got pissy that WWL was going to cut into his time with a “silly baseball game.” That was the last time I listened to him. Not because of that comment in particular, but it shined a light on what an out of touch douche he was.

Could you post the vichyssoise when you have the time? Thanks.

Friend,
Frank Davis was a fine man, a friend to sportsman, a loving family man, a gentleman, a great chef and cookbook writer. We had him over for a dinner party once and he was nothing but a superb guest. The city is poorer in his absence.
Yours,
TulaneLSU

And speaking of cool New Orleans cookbooks, the LeRuth's Front Door / Back Door cookbook from 1975 is in the Special Collections at Hill Memorial Library at LSU. It has a lot of recipes as well as some jokes, stories, and opinions from Warren LeRuth himself. A very interesting cookbook.
You can also buy a new copy from the grandkids at their website here if you want a physical copy.
