Here is an update of sorts for today Sometime this morning, the pastry wrapped Pear passed the cannelloni recipe to take 1st place and is now 120+- votes ahead in 1st place. At the rate it is gaining votes, the third place recipe (mushroom soup chicken will pass the Cannelloni recipe in 10 days and push Cannelloni to third place (the last place that will be considered for the trip prize).

The race between cannelloni and the gelato recipe is still close. Some days cannelloni gains 20-30 vote and other days loses 120-150 votes. There is a chance cannelloni will hold the 1397 vote lead it now has and a better chance it will be passed in 15 days (March 22).

We will see. I'll post votes tonight.

Thanks for your votes.

I've been voting every day, MD. Either Cavit is monkeying around or those folks messageboard voters or something similar. That's a lot of votes consistently every day. Or maybe they are using the different VPN deal. I don't know how to do that or I would vote multiple times a day.

The lady with the pear post has a food related website and does commercial photography. She started a facebook web page that is 100% devoted to the contest. I think she is actually getting that many votes each day, with no algorithm to get around the one vote per day rule.

Cannelloni is not dead yet, but sort of sad that there will be no answer until a day or two before voting is over.

I'm sure the 3rd and 4th place voters are somewhat worried about where they are at the moment and whether they will fall in the top three on March 31st. I am suspicious that my recipe will be passed by the 4th place recipe 8 days before voting ends.

Such is life. At the moment I have bigger things to occupy my thoughts

It makes me feel good that there are TD friends who are willing to vote for my efforts

Thanks everyone for your votes.

Let's keep pushing hard for votes and see if we can keep you in the top 3 at a minimum. Your recipe is the best of the recipes that still have a chance.

MD, I appealed to the Help board with no response. Your only chance of staying top 3 is posting this on the OT. It may get anchored again, but I don't see how you get top 3 without it, so there's nothing to lose unless they're sending you PMs warning you not to

Maybe the problem was that it looked like you were so far ahead - now that you aren't, it might be worth another shot.

When I post on the OT, folks there make nasty comments about me and my wife.

Just a contest. Not worth it. I am done with any appeals to them. I can handle being a loser. I am a Mississippi State fan. I have been beaten by good teams and beaten by awful teams. I have been shot at and missed and shite at and hit. I have been told it builds character.

You're a funny man, MD!

I forgot that you identified the food blog woman. How did you find her?

Same.

I've taken this as a challenge. Ole PC doesn't like to lose.

And, as mentioned, we all like MD around here and would love nothing more than to help him and MHNBPF get to Italy.

I found pear lady. She's got Cavit wine IN her recipe to top it off.

And, she's got a friend with a page giving away a gift card to a lucky voter.

quote:

Good morning!
Good news from my friend Shannon Wyatt Blocher, owner of the American Bar in Stockett, who is giving a $50 gift card away to the American Bar to one lucky pear voter today.
*To enter, vote for my pears, report your voting number in the comments below and like the American Bar’s Facebook page.
Lucky winner to be drawn at 9:00 p.m. tonight.
Thanks to Shannon for her thoughtfulness and generosity and good luck to all you pear voters!
Kindly KEEP voting!
EVERY vote EVERY day helps.??

They gave away wine to another voter. She's buying votes basically.

quote:

Congratulations to Tiffany Bell, today’s Vote-and-Win winner.
Please stop in at Wines by Wednesday to pick up your bottle of Moscato.
Cheers to you and to Tara Tronson for the generous gift and to ALL of you sweet pear voters. ????
Grazie!

If the OT would vote, we wouldn't need to buy votes. It makes me mad that she's winning that way. It appears she's got a "vote and win" program going on regularly. That should be enough to make folks mad and mass vote for MD minus a few of the ugly people on the OT. I'd love to see TD take it over honestly. Maybe if someone other than MD who is a regular on the OT pushes it, it would work. She's bragging about her takeover. TD could easily overcome that.

So is it more voting after top 3 or just get to top 3 and then it is decided by the wine company?
