Bogle makes a nice Chardonnay for $7.99. Anyone like their Chardonnay? I know their reds are decent.

Total Wine Barolo

Got a great rating from Decanter and only $39.99. I haven't had this particular vineyard but the price is definitely right. It's still very young for a Barolo so tannins and acidity will still be at the forefront.

Thanks for the recomendation. I'll check it out. My go to vineyard doesn't have a Barolo so I didn't want to overspend for something meh.

Trying to get out of my Napa cab/Napa bdx blend routine.

And then I go do something like this.

I’ve just gotten old and set in my ways. I get under a case of 3-4 different wines, I’m reordering the same case as long as it’s available. Would like to take the scenic route more vs staying in the HOV lane all the time. It’s hard.

For anyone who wants to try something different, you should sign up for the Garagiste emails. He offers really cool wines that are typically hard to find at a great price. He ships twice a year to LA. Also, most of his “mystery” stuff is incredible value. I’ve got about 7 cases of all kinds of wine coming in November.

Doing a wine tasting tonight at a friend's house.

Super Tuscan
Barolo
Valpolicella
Primitivo

I added a white for fun. Can't remember what I got.

My lentil soup calls for a little white wine. This is actually pretty tasty

I brought those to the pool the other day and liked them. There’s a few brands that are decent now.

Just don’t go out there trying to crush them like people do the seltzers Very big difference in ABV. I learned that lesson the hard way.

Oh yeah, I couldn't drink more than the half a can left after the recipe. I'm not a big fan of whites, but it was refreshing to sip on while cooking

Wine thread is lit tonight. I grabbed a Napa cab for tonight since I've been binging Italian reds lately. Probably overrated but Amici is the label.

I’m not familiar with many new world wines. But 17 Amici Cab has a 4.3 in Vivino. How was it?

It wasn't worth the price IMO but it was a solid Napa Cab. Bold fruit, dry and not too much acidity. I can find similar cabs for half the price. Vivino users love it apparently lol
