I'll be in those areas soon and am hoping someone can recommend a wine store that has a good selection of higher-end wines. Who is the best?

Also, any recommendations for good casual restaurants or new (opened last 2 years) restaurants of any kind are appreciated.

Thanks!

Also check Groupon. About a year ago I would always purchase a 50% off Groupon before walking in and get some awesome deals. Dude is knowledgeable

If you're going to be Uptown, you should check out Elio's.
It's a great wine/liquor/beer store.

If you're in the FQ, "Vieux Carre Wine & Spirits" is a good place.
It's on Chartres Street.

As far as a wine shop uptown, The Wine Seller on Prytania and Robert is severely underrated.

No doubt about these. Both owned by the Marcello family. Mr. Marcello at Vieux Carre is like 90 and still works there. He has incredible stories about moving to NOLA from Italy.
