It's the end of civilization as we know it when even the Windsor Court uses the bastard description "almondine."

Not a bad deal, I'll have to try that out.

I'll stick to Antoine's. Thank you.

Looks pretty good. I'll give it a go soon.

I think I will try this later in the week. Will report back.

more info
I'm sure the portions are small, but I wonder how small. Anyone tried it out yet?

Aesthetically inspired by the traditional Japanese bento box, the lunch is served on four separate small plates. Gastronomically, the menu stays true to Chef Causgrove’s signature American cuisine – blending Louisiana-focused Southern fare with refined technique and fresh, local ingredients.

Pretty solid meal. I got the Gulf fish amandine, with the gumbo (chicken and sausage), windsor court salad, and brussel sprouts. Even came with an assorted sorbet at the end which the online menu didn't mention.
My friend got 2 salad plates so they seem to let you double up with your 3 side choices. Gumbo was tasty, I might go double gumbo next time and skip the sprouts/turnips.

Antoine's is terrible. I went for the first time 2 months ago. Ordered all of the oyster apps. They were all terrible! And expensive. Oysters Rockefeller was the worst.

Had lunch at the WC Grill Room earlier this week. The $20 lunch is well worth it.
They first brought an amuse of a lump of jumbo crab with a little satsuma and some sort of very light citrus vinaigrette, I believe with a tiny bit of basil. Very nice bite to start.
Then, we were brought some delicious cheddar chive biscuits with SOFT butter, so I approved.
We ordered the blue crab "gratin" app for the three of us to taste because ever since Arse had it in the bar, I've had it on my list to try. It didn't disappoint and the plating was so impressive with the cheese on top the way it was presented. It has braised radishes,? asparagus, black garlic, manchego with a generous amount of crabmeat and some quartered heirloom cherry tomatoes. Very nice size app. I would order it again and again.
I had the plate lunch with white asparagus soup, truffled mac and cheese, grilled shrimp with chili butter and Windsor Court salad. The salad was the only disappointment. It just isn't the same as the regular WC salad and lacked enough dressing to even taste the Lorenzo sauce, but it was fine for a break in the flavors. The shrimp were delicious and they seem bigger than what's in the photo below. The soup and mac and cheese were both very good. I couldn't eat much of the mac and cheese because I became satisfied before I could finish it. This meal is a GREAT buy. I highly recommend it.
My Mom got the gumbo on hers and it's probably the best restaurant chicken and andouille gumbo I've had. Nice dark roux and I'd order it myself the next time I'm there. My Dad got the crab and bacon remoulaude club. He could only eat half barely. He enjoyed it very much.
As stated above, we also got the 3 scoops of sorbet with the gold chocolate crunchies on top. Excellent.
Had me wanting to eat there again.

It really is a lot of bang for your buck and I love the view of the courtyard from the lunch restaurant and all the glass windows. It's a very pretty atmosphere. I've always enjoyed it.

The color of their gumbo looks perfect!! It all looks great. Thanks for posting the pics.

I went ahead and made a reservation. I'm glad you posted about the gumbo because I may have overlooked it since I rarely order gumbo out.. but it looks perfect.

I enjoyed the soup, but I regretted not getting the gumbo after I tasted it. It was the right texture and such good dark roux flavor.

The gumbo is really good. The 2nd time I went I got double gumbo.

I would consider the same and next time someone asks where to eat gumbo, I'll send them there.

Good job Gris. WC is never on my list of places to go... Maybe it should

I haven't eaten another meal there in a very long time, but the lunch deal is a great price and the food is quality. I remember Arse having a few other things there in one of his posts which looked and sounded good, but he was eating in the bar at the time, I think these were small plates.
