Have a chance to get one for $350 total. Should I pull the trigger?

Never had purple top. Wouldn’t resell. It’s only a 6 yr.

Value is in the eye of the beholder if you are not going to resell it. It was touched on in another thread that the secondary market is out of control. It appears this store is bumping the price $100 based on what they've seen in secondary.

That's close to retail on those now. Well below secondary, even though 6 year is a little young for those.

Bought one at retail in Dec for $199. You will never see on shelf, $350 is reasonable

I personally would not for $350. Cool to see it hit a shelf though.

Edit: Oh this was from way earlier today. What'd you do OP?

No bottle of bourbon is worth that price

Unless you can resell it for more

I walked. It was a tough decision, but $350 was steep for me. He had like 5 bottles of stagg jr and some colonel for a decent price.

A 6 year is the best purple top I’ve had, and it certainly wasn’t the only one I’ve had

I’d drop $350 on it, but Willett is my favorite profile.

If it's "better" than 12 year old bourbon, then why does the age statement matter?

Look for Old Kirk. Same thing but way cheaper.

It's cheaper retail, but you're not going to just find Old Kirk sitting on a shelf unless you get extremely lucky. And it's more than $350 on secondary.

Truthfully, I get nervous buying bottles with this price tag without trying them. I think my safe level I am willing to spend on a bottle without trying it is $150.

I definitely get that, if Willett wasn't my favorite profile I would be hesitant to pull the trigger at $350, too.
