Dropped a 16 pounder on the stick burner at 5:30. Looking to pull and rest at 155.
Coffee and bourbon cream in the cup.
Happy Thanksgiving lads! One of the best days to be a Dad or a Dood all year.

If you pull at 155°, will it climb to 165° while resting?

Yea, of course a little toddy or cocktail in the morning is a must! Having coffee with some Southern Comfort here.

That’s the plan. Keep it from drying out.

What temp y'all smoke turkey at? I do 325, but I've always had 12 to 15 pound birds. Got a 23 pounder this year. Thinking like 5-6 hours.
We do our family's Thanksgiving on Friday so the other halves can go to other homes and not be driving around all day. Plus it gives us the luxury of having a chill day and get prepped for Friday, lessens the stress of busting arse to cook for 25 people.
Day drinking is trashy; Morning drinking is where it's at. Espolon and shitty low-carb beer for me. Cheers, all. It's a great day!

spatchcocked my 14lb turkey. I'm thinking 3 hours with a 30 min rest. So I'm aiming for 8:00-8:30.
Here’s to the 300-325 smokers! Proud to be on of the gang!

13lb Turkey on a Primo.
Thinking 250 degrees for 2 hours. Then cranking to 350 for an hour.
Do I take it off 5 degrees under temp?

Woke up at 3 seasoned the turkey, injected it and put it on the smoker. Sitting at 135 right now and looking great

I put one on the pit about 3 hours ago and just dropped the second one in the oil.
fricked around drinking and let the oil get to 450 while heating up. I let it get down to around 425 and said screw it and put the bird in. It settled immediately at 350 where I'll keep it. Should be a fun experiment.

Turkey just went on the smoker. Should be ready by midafternoon.

Ran this one at 325 in the recteq. Taste was great but still can’t quite get the crispy skin

Same. Mine was great but the skin still isn't where I want it.

It looked crispy from here. Got any oil in your rub?
