Small group 10 to 12 people for dinner. Where do I go? And what size pig do I need? Tired of the turkey dinner! I’m in Baton Rouge and surely can’t smoke one for myself! Lol! I do not want a wild hog either.

No insight as to sourcing a whole pug.
If you're tired of turkey, maybe try prime rib?
If you want ham, maybe get a honey baked ham?
Best of luck finding a pig

Not sure of your occupation, but I noticed that you like to plan ahead.

prime rib?
That would be tasty smoked.

Rouses will sell you a cleaned pig. It's going to look like a small dog if you only need one for 12 people.

For NOLA area folks, Hong Kong Market on the west bank will sell you a cooked pig. I forget the price per pound, but the guy in front of me in line got one and paid about $240 for it.

Did a half pig, 20 lbs, for 11 people for Thanksgiving. It was just enough. I live in Avoyelles and pigs are easy to find here. It will be pretty hard to find one if you haven't already reserved one. Cooked it at 275 for 5 hours then 300 for the last hour. Delicious!

And probably it will frozen with a new label and a use by date of the next day.

Restaurant Depot has them.
FWIW, people tell me that a stolen pig tastes much better than a paid-for one.
