Bissell should be a lot higher, IMO

Think the poll is still open.

It’s a public poll. Bissell doesn’t have a huge national following, to my knowledge. Not the same name recognition, and even when recognized many haven’t had it.

Shocker. The (current) top two New England IPA producers are in New England.

Not a big surprise the the big population centers voted for their local favorites.

Other Half is in 4th. If you’re right, it would be higher. Lord Hobo is Boston. It’s towards the bottom. And all the Cali places are low. I don’t think you can cite population as the determining factor. I think it’s more about hype/acclaim. Literally as you go down the list the beers become less and less well-known.

Monkish is at 3.

Big fan of Modern Times, they show up reasonably well

Right, I left them off in my mind. Because acclaimed. But other places like Fieldwork, Noble, Cellarmaker, Casa Agria, Offshoot, etc. are all low. So I just don’t think population is the right metric. I think Monkish being in a place that has a large population and ranking highly is correlation, not causation.

I’ll say this, Whole Foods Houston probably deserves to be amongst those nominees.

I think that we now have a more even playing field across the US with a lot of local breweries putting out some great stuff that have a harder time getting national recognition

Like most similar "polls", this one fuggin sucks. I have no problem with it.....just call it what it is.....a popularity contest skewed toward the best beer.

I would agree. Louisiana beers are leaps and bounds ahead of what they were just a few years ago. But they still have quite a way to go to compare to a lot of breweries around the country.

Crazy how the "best" beer is getting the most votes in a poll for the best beer.

Doesn’t it suck when things are ranked based on quality? It’s a bunch of bullshite is what it is.
