Will it survive?
They should have put it in a location that would have gotten more foot traffic.

You have no idea what you're talking about. Outside of downtown, there isn't a more walkable place than Mid-City/Capital Heights especially after they finish the Govt St road diet.

I thought it was OK but it was so packed on Saturday that people are just standing around waiting for a table to open up. I guess that is a good thing but the place needs a ton more seating. Is the place next door going to be partnering with them and maybe offer more? I would stop in for a quick lunch to go if I worked over there but I don't so I doubt I will be back any time soon. By the way, the place selling desserts had stuff that tasted like crap and their employees were total bitches. It is called CounterSpace. The place serving Ramen was delicious and they were friendly.

No idea. Not the best city to try this concept.
Just seems vendors are already giving up.
It might have been a good downtown concept to get that lunch crowd.

1 vendor gave up because $18 for a 1/2 dozen oysters isn't exactly everyday affordable for most people. The other place that never really opened was quickly filled in by Counterspace and MJ's Cafe.

we tried to go a couple sundays ago. We had a 2 year old and 9 month old.
We walked in, walked around, and left. Wish they would have more tables instead of a long community table.
I knew it wasnt kid friendly going in but we wanted to take a chance.
Its always slammed on Saturdays and sundays

I didn't eat their stuff, but I will agree that they were bitches. I had my 3 year old with me and thought they might accommodate her with a grilled cheese. They were real snooty and told me it would be impossible with their "vegetarian cheese". Eff off nerds.
ETA: The nerds are at MJs. My apologies to counterspace, who make very good chocolate chip cookies.
I like everything else I've had at WSM.

2 people in this thread have stated they went on a Saturday and Sunday and couldnt find a table.
Sssoooooo.......

let me clarify, they had about 20-30 small tables able to seat 4... those were all taken
maybe two people sitting at the long table that could hold 50

I think you might be confusing CounterSpace with MJ's right next to it... CounterSpace makes cakes and shite so they probably were snoody when you demanded your grilled cheese

You know where I’d like to see a Trader Joe’s? Downtown Bossier.
When it does finally come to NWLA, it’ll probably be in the stupid suburbs.
ETA: This seems better than starting my own thread.

Is there any place in BR that has steady foot traffic?
Ive been to the market and it was just ok to me. I dont ever really see myself going back. I can get all the same food at other places that are closer to me
Are they still yelling into the crowd for peoples orders or did they get a new system?

I think it's fine. Nice idea. The pho place was good. The food truck one was ok.
Really didn't care for the tacos.
If some other "community" type places open near it , it will be a cool experience in baton rouge.

Jolie Pearl prices were crazy. No surprise they failed.
The food hall should do just fine considering they’re able to replace weak concepts with new ones pretty quickly. That poke’ concept should kill if the quality is good.

Yeah it seemed kid friendly in my mind, but when I brought my kids it did not work out so well

I bring my lil Sun Gods there about once a week and it hasn't been an issue at all. But we haven't tried to do it on a Friday or Saturday either.
