I was talking of what I thought before I got there. Of course we saw portions and prices and ordered entrees. We were just expecting a different experience. More drinks and small plates and less children

Sometimes people don't want to sit next to a family with kids

I don't

Ah I gotcha

Definitely can't try everything in one trip unless you're Joey Chestnutt

Agree with you on the parking and the circus-like atmosphere some nights. I stick to happy hour and Sunday afternoons there. I will say I've never had to resort to sitting next to a bunch of screaming kids even on busy nights. Guess I've gotten lucky.

I've been to a decent number of these halls in other cities, and they almost cater specifically to families so I'm surprised to see so much about the kids in here. Last one I was in was having trivia night with questions aimed at the kids.

They also rarely have a wait or are crazy busy, which is a big reason I choose them when I'm solo. I'm surprised to hear WSM is so slammed at night that you can't find seating, but I think that's great for them.

I have never been to one so had zero frame of reference. I obviously spent way too much money eating in San Fran and Chicago

We went on a random Monday for lunch over the summer. It was crowded but we were able to find a spot at the long table. Had just about every govt taco and enjoyed them all but clucks and balances was my favorite one. Overall I enjoyed it.

They’re in the process of opening a food hall in the district (Jackson). Hopefully they secure some good vendors

I’m not vegan and have no particular reason to defend it, but asking a restaurant of any kind to make you something that’s not on their menu and then being upset they don’t do it is ridiculous. How does the cashier ring you up or know what to charge you? Nevermind that they don’t have cheese or possibly even sandwich bread (I don’t know their menu).

Just seems like an odd thing to complain about. Why not but your 3 year old a cheesey bread from the pizza place?

What the heck did I do besides defend the place for seeming kid friendly?

Just was asking how a loud space with people walking around would be a poor place for families. Madam just cited kids everywhere as her reason for not liking it, so clearly someone finds the place kid friendly.

Lol I have four kids and still have no desire to dine next to children. Having or not having kids doesn't change that fact. So we usually sit at the bar or go to fine dining to minimize children.
