yep, glass is designed to have a larger pour at the bottom of the glass and allow swirl without leakage and funnel the nose through a smaller neck to intensify the nose .

OT will tear me apart for this response. lol

Yall take it easy on me, I'm relatively new to the finer things in life. My question is this, does the glencairn style glass really make a difference? I see most everyone uses them, does it really bring out the flavor? TIA

As others have said it’s better for nosing, I’m probably 50/50 between using a Glen or using a tumbler. Think I’m going to get an Aged and Ore Neat glass soon. I want something with the weight and size of a tumbler, but without losing the nosing of the Glen.

I prefer to drink my bourbon out of Glencairns. I have drank it out of many vessels and I end up back to them. It makes for a good size por. Looks good in the bowl. Does help concentrate the smell if you want to take a whiff. You can easily swirl it without spilling and when you swirl it it does change the flavor profile of what is in the glass. Much the same way aerating wine.

Still haven’t had bourbon since lent started... wine bottles disappearing doe

I gave up bourbon and cigars last year for lent. My tolerance has finally adjusted itself back to normal.

Thanks for the answers to my Glencairn glass question. I picked up two of the them at lunch and will be sipping BT out of them tomorrow night.

Where do y’all shop for bourbon in the SE Louisiana area? I live in Prairieville so my usual spot is Hokus/Alexanders Market. I like Cannata’s in Houma also. Just trying to get some ideas for other spots to hit. I have heard good things about Aquistipace in Covington.

The one in Mandeville's shelves are getting pretty bare right now. They did have a couple reps in earlier in the week planning a shipment though, so that should be changing soon.

Calandros BR on Perkins and Oak Point in Central (just outside of BR) are both solid

I have been to Calandros a few times. I may take a ride and go check out Oak Point.

Just grabbed the last bottle at the Slidell store. I’ve missed out on every other ER Barrel and wind up finding it at freaking Sams

Thanks. Got the last 2 from Sam's. Had family from the West Bank run over today. :) They had Saz Rye if anyone is looking (not Special ones like you guys are posting).

Glad y'all were able to get some

FPD and 2pd breax mart BT and comparing it to regular BT

The breaux mart pick is noticeably less sweet and has a lot of oak on the nose. Pretty solid IMO. And $38.99 for handle too
