Mid afternoon blind of my favorite straight ryes from the year. OC is batch 9. Willett is the WU 2er.
Update: The Willett easily won. It's the best rye I've had. The nose is incredible and that willett cinnamon lurks behind fruit and a little mint on the palate. Delicious.
Michters barrel strength was second. I liked that one enough to get a second bottle so I knew it'd do well. It's rich and has such a good balance of spice and sweetness.
Michters 10 and old carter were close. Ultimately I chose Michters because of the fruit notes. It lacks the traditional rye spice in comparison to the others, but is fun to drink. The OC is merely good.
