Where at for the 4R?
Sorry for the lack of clarity, I was referring to the Barrell pick as the one I was going to pick up another of. The 4R is from Maisano’s, it was a release from a few months back.

That’s a delicious bottle. One of my favorites.

So went through KY today. Picked up a few things. First whisky purchase this year. I was amazed at the prices of things especially all the sourced juice that I have never heard of. I got 2 Glendalough Irish Pot Still one finish in Mizunara Cask. Heard good things didn’t have any, Russell’s Liquor Barn pick that is damn near 12 years old but price was steep at $80. Penelope 4grain BP Batch 10, Nulu BP Toasted Pick, Rolling Fork Single Cask El Salvador Rum 11yr old. They had the new Bookers for $99.99, also the BBCo Founders for $180. I damn near fell out.

I'd pay $80 for 12year RR SP all day long.

Same, I feel like $10 per year of aging is fair for most whiskey, obviously there are outliers where I am willing to pay more

I’m currently in St. Louis for the weekend. Any stores in the area y’all would recommend?

this place rocks and the owner claims to have the largest bourbon selection in the state. They have a whole shelf(ves) dedicated to store picks
I was pleased with what I got there

Old fashioned and boulevardier were the first pours at a restaurant. Back home for this:

Thanks for the sample!
I picked yours, I tasted them over an extended period of time to see if they would change. Mine evolved into a more savory/Smokey profile, which I thought was interesting. I didn’t get that on the first couple pours out of the bottle, but this was the first time I let it sit for a while. It reminded me a lot of a Willett sib that I had Jack rose that was called “the changeling” because it evolved so much after sitting. I felt like yours kept the same sweet notes, almost like a glazed donut, with of course the trademark Willett cinnamon.
Both were great pours, I kept enough of the sample to do another side by side on a different date to see if I am consistent
Don’t know what I’m gonna drink now that’s going to stand up to those beasts
