On the first sip, it was different than any other peated whiskey I have ever tasted. Smoke of course up front, but almost a lemon flavor behind it. Has a nice long finish.

Smoke is closer to the sweet peat of the Ardbeg style. Very fruity once the smoke balances out. Impressed!

Since I’m under the sink digging in boxes I’ll do some more.

TA, this is an old barrel from my wife’s grandparent’s house that sat in their kitchen for as long as I’ve known my wife. I had a friend do the work. He cut the door out and added an interior shelf and lighting.

And you could always sell the barrels if they didn’t mean anything to you. I see them on Craigslist priced $100-$200.

I couldn’t remember who had this made. Glad you posted this again. I love that.

The barrel wasn’t in the best shape when I got it from her grandparent’s. The hoops were loose, a couple of the staves cracked, etc... if it wasn’t something that had been in the family I would’ve chosen a better barrel.

Recently moved. Just now getting around to unboxing the rest of the collection. Now to build a cabinet for it and start increasing the numbers. Few bottles need to be killed off and few I haven’t opened yet.

Hey Juan, how is the Hibiki. I heard good things. It's a blend, right?

It’s smooth.

All jokes aside, yes it’s blended.

I find it’s Very floral and a bit fruity.

Since I bought a barrel of Russle’s reserve I can get WT stuff usually. Got a case of the cornerstone and 3 of the BIB. Kept one for myself it’s pretty good.

I have the cornerstone rye and love it. Have a bottle of the Decades I haven't opened yet.

Maybe i'll scratch that itch tonight.

Just took a pour of my Knob Creek Rye (Hokus Pokus barrel pick) I got from Lake Charles last February. Man I forgot how good this was.

To me WT is one of the best lines of juice out there. Love almost everything they put out. From pricing to availability, they have a ton of gems on the shelf.

Couldn't agree more. If I only had rare breed and 101 to drink for the rest of my life, I would be ok.

Got a bottle of EC Toasted and Baker’s 7 (8y & 7m). Going definitely open the toasted tonight. Been drinking some miller’s with boiled crabs!
