None of the Weller line is worth fight club prices, IMO though.
This was my take away after getting to try a store pick 107 and a 12 year. I have pretty much no interest in Weller unless I can snag one at retail, and then it would only be to use it to trade for something I actually like.

Yea I have a SR and 107 in my closet. My plans are to trade it.

Yep even the WLW secondary is insane

Jesus christ I am out of touch. Had a buddy ask if I knew where any Blanton's was and I casually mentioned I had an extra unopened. Went to check secondary prices and they are insane, checked acquistapace's and they have a 2 year list.

frick all that. I’d rather drink 4 roses and RR SiB that deal with the Blanton’s/ER mania.

quote:Yeah, it's just not worth it. Don't get me wrong, I have a couple Blanton's in my cabinet, but there are other bourbons that are easier to get and cheaper (or the same price). Old Forester 1920 is practically the same price and beats the shite out of it, IMO. And can be found on the shelf anywhere you go.

Eagle Rare is pretty much my go-to if I'm drinking low proof, and is hard to beat at ~$30, but it's not nearly as hard to come by as Blanton's, in my experience.

I'm selling it to him at what I paid for it, which was retail at the time. I'm not contributing to the madness.

FPD, seeing what this one is all about
ETA: I wasn’t calling you out or anything, just speaking on the state of bourbon and the madness that is Blanton’s demand.

Evening JCJ, I’ve been slacking, I need to pick up one of those. I’ve still yet to try it.

I was able to snag an extra. I've seen them on shelves around town for a good bit.

Oh, I’ve seen them. I’ve just prioritized other bottles, so I haven’t picked one up yet.

Tonight’s lineup. May throw in a 4th.

Will have to get back to pics soon. Had half pours of OWA, Donahoes batch, and Willett rye.
Interesting to see the feedback on the Weller rankings. I refuse to pay secondary prices in general. Trades have been my route to trying out more stuff.
