One of my favorite pours of the year. The C920 is good too but I would give the nod to B520. I wish I could find it again I'd love a back up bottle.
I just saw a 520 today in NOLA. The place is rather pricy, so not sure the cost on it as it wasn't marked. They had 3 bottles of EC18 for $300ea among some other very overpriced allotted bottles

More than likely, it’s liquor stores buying them up from Costco. It’s $27 at Costco, they sell them for $35+, and it gets customers to their stores.

Probably the BinQ guy.

I’m going ride a few places in NOLA on Saturday. Besides Martin’s, total wine, and grocery stores, what are some other spots to hit?

I don’t horde ER

in North Carolina if you see ER10, you buy every bottle. believe me

Ah. Like I said, its more than likely liquor stores that buy it up, tax free, resale for $10 profit, and it brings customers to the store. Or is this illegal?

Definitely going there. Just trying to find hard to find stuff or some BS/store picks.

Definitely illegal. I wouldn't be surprised if it happens here though.

Elios has store picks of Pinhook (bourbon and rye), Russel's Reserve, Makers Select, and 1792 SiB and BOB.

Avoid Dorignacs. They are notorious price gougers. Supporting them supports that bullshite. Sure they have a good selection, but it's not worth giving that unethical business any sales.
Zuppardos and Rouses can get some nice selections. I have found some good stuff at Breux Mart as well.
Martin's though is your best bet. Ethical company, great staff and excellent selections.

Pinhook is vastly underrated. More people need to give them some buys. Just not too many, because we don't need to BT them

I like Talisker a lot, but Storm is just average. Not something I’d buy again. The 10 and 18 are really solid and Port Ruighe is fantastic but impossible to find.
I've had others on here tell me the same thing. I plan to give the 10 a try in the near future.

This is my favorite distillery. They’ve been around since 2005, I think it was the first new Islay distiller in over 100 years. Of their core line, Sanaig is just wonderful. That’s the bottle that really turned me on to Scotch.
They also release a handful of limited edition offerings each year. All are great. I’ve got 13 different Kilchoman bottles and every one of them is good if not great.
You sold me. I'm going to seek this out very soon. I'll start with the Sanaig.
Lagavulin 16 is what turned me on to Islay, and now I am hooked. I just need to find ones that have the proper balance.
By the way, I bought the Port Askaig 8 recently by the recommendation of Martin's, and I am loving it. For $50 it's a great buy. I haven't had the Lag 8 yet, but he was saying he prefers this to that one. I shared with my friend over the weekend who hasn't really gotten into Islay yet, and he went to buy himself a bottle. We both enjoyed it plenty.

I’ve only been there twice and both times, they were same price as anyone else (Weller SR $30, ER $35)

their store pick ER was $50 a few weeks ago.

Sounds like Piggly Wiggly on the north shore. Their ER & WSR were $30 and $35 a year ago. Now it’s $50 for WSR and $60 for ER.

Definitely Illegal. As a Licence holder, you HAVE to buy from a distributor. ITs "because of double taxation" they say but who knows. You can not buy booze from Costco tax exempt. You can't resell it.
Also, it all depends what buying level you are on but with Costco and total wine types if I do not buy more than one case for a multi-case discount sometimes my price is higher than what I could get it from those 2 places. Even if I buy enough for a multi-case discount it might be less than a dollar cheaper.

I was there last Saturday. They had regular ER bottles on top of the ER barrel with the signs still up leading you to believe these were their barrel pick. These bottles had no sticker indicating that it was their barrel pick. The staff insisted that it was the barrel pick until I kept asking "then where is the sticker" and they finally admitted that it was just a regular ER bottle and those are $40. I had her price check it and it rang up at $50. Was going to pass at $40 but definitely passed at $50.
