Hey TA. I haven’t posted in a while and I haven’t purchased any of your previous picks as I have not been drinking as much over the last couple of years. I am a long time poster to this thread back to 2013 or so. I would love a bottle of Blanton’s if I can make the cut. Would be in on future picks as well since I started picking up the brown water more since Christmas.

Yes! I bought one of those airplane samplers last week to try it. Got home, poured and let rest for 10 mins. Smell wasn't bad, but first sip was pretty awful. Gave it a few more tries and tossed down the drain with haste. Terrible stuff.
I get others may like it, and I don't fault anyone for having different palates. For me though, ugh...
This is why I like that more indies are bottling minis. It gives us the opportunity to try before dropping $50+ on a bottle. I tried Barcones Single Malt this way, loved it and now own a bottle. What's funny is I shared with a friend this weekend, and he hated it. He probably would love Ragged Branch

Anyone tried Barrel Bourbon brand? Someone mentioned it to me today, but I had never heard of it.

I have a store pick single barrel from them that I'm not a huge fan of but it's okay. Not a drain pour or anything like that. It's 14 year old Dickel, cask strength but only 103 proof. I definitely wouldn't pay what I paid for it again.
I also have Dovetail from them, and I really enjoy it. It's whiskey aged in rum, port, and cabernet casks, also cask strength but this one is 124 proof. Dovetail is sourced from MGP and Dickel. The Dickel funk is definitely minimized in this blend.
I haven't tried any of their "regular" numbered batches, but I would be willing to give them a shot. I would be wary though, because I'm not a huge Dickel fan and I wouldn't want to pay again for another bottle with that profile. Maybe their blending moves the profile away from the Dickel funk, I don't know. It's definitely not very pronounced in Dovetail.

Had the Barrel SB a couple months ago and enjoyed it. I got a small batch for White Christmas at work and it's not bad.

Thanks guys. I'm no expert but I do enjoy trying different drinks. Don't think I'll run out and didn't $100 on it based on your fdbk but I'll look for an opportunity to give it a try.

I tend to like it...I also like Dickel too. There whisky release was underwhelming but their bourbon ones are usual good. I also have that 15y mentioned above that is real good but damn it was pricy.
