All three BP we tasted were excellent. Couldn't go wrong.

ya you are in no mans land. Red , White and Brew gets some bottles. I think it would be worth a drive to Mandeville and the options there including aquistapace.

Best bang for the buck right now is Coopers Craft 100 if you can find it. $32 range. very nice bottle. Also, Wild Turkey 101 is prob the best bang for the buck price wise . as you see here Old Forester 1920 can be had everywhere and is around $52.

Thanks for the recommendations. Sugarfield is going for $54 at rouses at the moment.

Has anyone been to hokus pokus spirits on airline near gonzales? I pass by there a lot during work. Curious as to their selection.

The Wild Turkey intrigued me.

I’m just not big on OF. I’ve tried it all but the hard to find SB.

Hokus is your best bet, better than Rouses. I'd pass on the Sugarfield

WT101 is the king of best bang for the buck. was my burner bottle before Coopers 100 came out. BTW, do not get the older bottle of Coopers, it's aweful, 84 proof, was made for bourbon beginners and is not good.

Not trying to simp on sugarfield. Its out of gonzales and I'm just getting my feet wet and navigating the landscape but have you tried it? If so, thoughts?

I appreciate the recommendations

One of the best in the state.
Start with the Evan Williams bottled in bond (white label $16) then buy what ever catches your eye

I hope they do well, and if you want to support local, nothing wrong with that. I think their current bottles could use some work. maybe more barrel time.

Wow
Ok
They seriously really do taste almost the same.
Woodford Reserve Double Oaked has one more tick of a longer finish than 1910

But really they are the same

From what I recall, the only difference is in the character of the second barrel. Same juice otherwise. I do pick up a stronger leather/tobacco note on the 1910. The Woodford is slightly smoother to me, but it's hard to imagine liking one and not the other.
