The wine finish is apparent. I got a good bit of blackberries and there's some cherry too. Unlike the toasted bourbon, it's not immediately apparent that the batch strength bourbon is the base. I'm not sure if they changed up the blend that much or if it's just from the dominance of some of the wine notes. It also was a neck pour and at 121 proof, my guess is it'll open up.

They did divulge a bit more info about the blend, noting it includes a mashbill with 36% rye. That's Bardstown, which is pretty convenient since they bottle it there.

I mainly got this one out of nostalgia. Templeton rye was the first rye I drank neat (circa 2009). They got in trouble for false advertising a while back and I haven't had anything from them in years (although I've been eyeing the 10 year). I also didn't realize they were doing barrel picks.

I haven't had any of the single barrel but the 10 year rye is packed full of flavor. I like it.

Just about finished with my bourbon room and loading the shelves. Came across this one from two years ago, a t00f favorite at one time. It is a great pour, the toasted oak spiral did its job. Thought it was a gimmick but this turned into a very good pour!!!
