What's the top 3 starter scotches yall would recommend? So far I've really liked McAllen 12 and glenfiddich 12.
You already named two good ones to start with. I also recommend the Glenmorangie 10, it's the Buffalo Trace of scotch. Try the Balvenie DW too. Cragganmore 12 is another. I would stay away from the Islay Scotches for starter bottles.

I joined it not long ago and I agree. But isn't that part of what makes it fun?

I mean let's be honest. If you could just go out and pick up some Pappy or an Antique or a Four Roses limited or any other highly allocated whiskey there wouldn't be the thrill of the hunt and it wouldn't be special when you tracked down one of those bottles.
I doubt that I'll be into the whole seen 5 years from now but it's fun at the moment.

I'd be pretty fricking ecstatic to be able to go to albertsons and pick up wlw, GTS, or ER17 on any given day for $79

I ended up in Vicksburg Ms for the night, so I grabbed a room at the casino. I fiqured I could get a decent drink there even if I had to pay for it. I went to the bar and asked if she could make and old fashion. She said they didn't havd simple syrup. But could make it with 7up and whiskey. Na, I'll pass you have any bourbon. We have crown, charter. I stopped her there, give me a charter on the rocks. I am drinking from a plastic cup. FML.
