Couldn't help myself. Found it for $75 so jumped on it.

This is pretty cool. Titanium ring lined with Jack Daniels barrel stave.

1st & 2nd pour: EC12 Old Fashion
EC12 has become my favorite sub $30. Great as a mixer and not bad on its own.

FPD - cracked open the Macallan 12. Not bad at all. I'm going to have to do a side by side with the Oban 14 to see which one I like best.

Did you find the Macallan too sweet? I had a few big pours on New Years eve and really liked it but thought it was maybe a little too sweet.

It's definitely sweet up front. But it really opens up as I let it sit in my mouth. I did a very small pour just to taste it, so I may feel differently with a larger pour. I only had 1 pour of the Oban 14 a few days ago but loved it.
How does the Macallan compare to the Balvenie double wood?

It is safe to say there is no rare bourbon on the shelfs Mexico, at least in Playa. About as close as I came was some Jack and Wild Turkey...

Balvenie was better. More balanced. The Macallan is aged entirely in sherry casks, but the Balvenie is only finished in sherry and aged in used bourbon barrels.

Can someone explain what FPD, 1PD, 2PD, 3PD, etc, stands for? Never saw it mentioned but have been lurking this thread for a while now.

Went to a friends house over the weekend, we each had 2 pours, I have to say it was damn good.
