alot of retailers are being extremely smug this year unless your real tight with them. i had a real bad experience with one yesterday that i'll refrain from naming right now. just gonna be really hard this year. pretty much everybody has a long list or will just call their better customers. your not gonna find anything besides Handy on shelves and even the Handy will go quick.

So far this year I have 2 staggs 2 wlw 2 ER17 and 2 Handys. Got 2 more potential places. Pappys I got 2 23s and a 15 with 2 maybe 3 more potential places.

This is really the best year so far, picked up some good new ones this year but lost one I think (guy changed jobs).

I've got to eat some crow. A few pages ago I bashed Divine in Ruston for lording over good bottles. Well, I was wrong. I was in there Tuesday of this week and futilely put my name on their mile-long van winkle list. Yesterday they called and said my name was on their last bottle of 10 year.
Long story short, the bottle on the left cost me $65 at Divine, the bottle on the right cost $125 at the store in Sheveport that gets nearly all my business. The one in the middle was taken in trade for a THH.
Also: This whiskey is really, really good. I wish it weren't. At 65 it's a bargain, at 125, it's still worth the price.

I'd still want the pot to be a little sweeter. I've seen 4Roses going for $225 easy on BX. Then again, Van Winkle isnt my "must have".
I just think the 4Roses is probably a better pour than those 2. Just my opinion though

$225 on the 4R? I haven't seen that. I paid $140 for the one that I bought on the BX and I turned down a bottle at $180. Now I have seen Lot B going for $225 and ORVW going for $150 on the BX. I think the value of the ORVW 10 and Lot B is greater than the value of the 2 Four Roses. Plus I am more of a wheated bourbon guy. The Four Roses is excellent stuff though.

The one I got off of there I got for far less than that too but I have seen prices as high as $225 several times. Didn't realize people were getting $225 for Lot B. If that's what you like, get em!

Yep. I called a place whose list I am on for Pappy once each of the last 3 weeks to see if they had gotten their shipment in. Last few times they said they hadn't gotten it in yet. Called today and they said they got it in a couple weeks ago and were all out.
