Havnt cracked it yet but the only whiskey Breaking Bourbon has rated higher than it is Van Winkle Rye and they have reviewed all tha BTAC (they have rated Saz 18 and WLW the same as the Barrel). Batch 005 was one of their 3 favorite bourbons of 2015 and they said the Batch 006 was better so that was enough for me to spend the money

Absolutely DELICIOUS. Incredibly 'drinkable'. Even the Mrs. didn't hate it, which is rare for her and the nector of the gods. She had a good point and I didn't notice it until my 2nd pour, but there is a decent 'Tea' tasting finish to it. Strong hints of Tea. If you can find this somewhere by the pour, do it. $150 is still a bit steep for bourbon imo...but this stuff is tastyyy

How is Gautreau's? I've heard good things but I still haven't made it down there.

Insanely good...flavor balances are unlike any place in NOLA.

My wife wanted to go here for her birthday 3 years ago...both of our birthdays have been spent there every year since.

Actually went back and picked it up Wednesday evening after debating whether the Handy was worth it or not at that price. Obviously I went with not

There's a good chance they'll get some more in though. It's in north Houston but if you're still interested just let me know and I'd be happy to point you in the right direction

Hit up Fogo De Chão tonight with the Mrs. They had this on the menu, so I had to order it.

I get a whole lot of oak at the end of that McKenna. I'm pretty new to this whole game and haven't had anything like it. I'm gonna need another pour or two tonight to see if I can figure it out.

My boss just got me a bit of a gift package. It had Johnny Blue, Lagavulin 16, and some Blanton's. Have to go pick them up in DC this week.
