Not sure. I thought they are out of 4A as well but then it was on the list so I am hoping they have it as that is the one I keep hearing everyone talk about. I have also asked for a 6B.

Is there another selection that is close to 4A if they are out?

"4" represents which floor the barrel came from. "A" represents where on the floor the barrel was located.

So theoretically, 4A will be milder and less oaky than 4F.

If looking for something similar to 4A, just get the lowest number and letter than is available.

If you're not overloaded, you can add a EC12 4A to my order. If you're at capacity, no biggie. Thanks for doing this by the way.

Sis, if you get this in time I'd love to get 1 of whatever the lowest EC12 available (4A, 5B, whatever).

I thought I was gonna have time to go up tomorrow, but I've got stuff to do in the morning....Can pay you cash in BR.

If you can do it, much appreciated...sorry we're all piling on here.

I should be able to get everything depending on if there are enough 4As, which I believe there are.

Final tally:

jflsufan - EC12 4A, 6B
Unc - FR Warehouse HW, Rack 32, Tier 4, Barrel P 11 yr, 3 month, EC12 4A
SnglMaltScotch - ER 750L, the PHC9, and an Old Scout
No8Easy2 - EC12 4A
JCANS - PHC9
3HourTour - EC12 4A
drockw1 - lowest EC12 available (preference 4A)

I'll check one last time when I get there for anyone that was late to the game.

It's Christmas, gotta spread the Northshore private pick wealth.

I also am glad to be able to support Aquistapaces, they have special ordered lots of weird things for me since I moved here last year and they never overcharge on anything. Good folks.

Thanks much! Hopefully Adam has a nice bottle in the back for you as a reward since you're buying in bulk.

Question for the group. I am a salt aholic of sorts. Love dirty martinis. I recently have been getting into more scotch. Have some Balvenie 15 right now. My question is are there any areas, brands, specifics that have that touch of saltiness I like? Just curious as I am new to the scotch game here.

Read the flavor profile descriptions and look for a "Briney" texture. Some even confuse peatiness with saltiness.

AS for a specific recommendation, try Bunnahabhain 12 or even to a lesser extent Highland Park 12 or 15.

On a side, try the Bunnahabhain "Totteach" which is a MILDLY smokey scotch. It's is excellent. There are others out there that are too smokey to even drink (Laphroagh and Ardbeg), but the mild smokiness of this one is great.

I find them at Martin's Wine Cellar occasionally.

Drock, have you had their 4R pick? Are they usually good?

I had one last year around this time from there (maybe it was the OBSK, but can't recall) but I thought it was great. I'd feel pretty good about your pick.

Hate to say it, but I haven't had a FR barrel select that wasn't!

The weather made my trip a little longer. I just got here. Yours will be the final order I can get.

The cashier is going to think I'm an alcoholic....
